I got pregnant the first month trying for all three pregnancies. (Unfortunately, the middle one ended in an early miscarriage).

It took my mom months to conceive her 5 children. She calls me Fertile Myrtle.

Yup. You know how it's supposed to take awhile to get pregnant after birth control pill use, especially if you've used them for an extended period of time? Yeah...took my last pill (doctor refused to write the prescription any longer, based on my age), next month when the period should have showed up....SURPRISE!!! Your alternate method didn't work! :scared1:

Can't imagine life without that little "surprise" now, but I was NOT happy at the time. And after that I made it very clear that my husband could do the snip snip or the life of celibacy, his choice. :lmao:

I have six kids, only one planned. However, it took over six months to concieve him so I don't call myself a "Fertile Myrtle" because I wonder how long it would have took if I planned the others. So although, people might see me as a fertile myrtle, I don't because I think they were concieved in the normal amount of time it usually takes. I just had more time than usual and had age as an advantage, that is all.

Yep. Seems pretty common in my family, though.

We weren't trying with my first (he was definitely wanted, we just wanted to wait another year.) and my second, I got pregnant right out of the gate.

My mom had 8 kids, but all of us used some sort of permanent method to stop at one or two. :lmao:

Well, I've had five pregnancies...three conceived on BC. It got to the point, DH was afraid to sit next to me or swim in the same pool!:rotfl:

No. First baby only took two months, but second baby took a little over a year. :confused3

We call two of my sisters fertile myrtle, they both got pregnant on the first try with all their children. Two of the six pregnancies were oopsies while trying to prevent conception.

I have another sister who struggled for seven years to get her only child. They were never able to conceive again after that despite a lot of intervention.

Not one bit! Have spent thousands at a fertility clinic, it was all worth it. I found out Sunday I'm pregnant. :)

After 25 years and most of those with out any form of birth control, i am gonna have to say NO. (and no we do not have any children)

However i have two cousins that if their husbands looked at them wrong they got pregnant.

We tried twice, we have 3 kids (twins for the second pregnancy). Yes, fertile Myrtle.

Congratulations!!:yay:

To answer the OP: No, unfortunately I'm not. :( I have Luteal Phase Deficiency (luteal phase isn't long enough to allow an egg to implant) so after 16 cycles of trying with DD, I got on Clomid. Thankfully it took only one cycle to get pregnant with her!

I actually have been meaning to call my doctor this week to make an appt and get another prescription for the meds. We're going to start TTC in a couple of months and since I'm temping and using natural family planning to prevent, I know that my LPD hasn't gotten any better so I'll need meds again.

On the plus side, back when I was a teenager & an idiot and DH & I practiced unprotected sex, having fertility problems was a REAL lifesaver! :rolleyes1

Yes. All 3 of mine were planned, but all 3 were conceived the first month. With the 3 rd I felt pregnant nearly immediately. I told DH, I think Im pregnant. he said, I dont know why you wouldnt be.

My mom and sister had trouble conceiving and staying pregnant. I had a pelvic infection in my 20s. I fully expected to have trouble. I was so relieved to be a fertile mertile!

ahhhhh I wish I had 7 years of infertility. I wish I could have just has sex and become pregnant! :lmao:

It was a LOT harder than I was told it was going to be in high school!

Nope. It took exactly two years to conceive with our first pregnancy and it ended in miscarriage after 8 weeks. Amazingly I got pregnant the second month after the miscarriage, so hopefullly this one sticks!!! (I'm 7 1/2 weeks)

Yay! Congrats!

I'm not a fertile Myrtle. It took us 8 months to get DS. I was on the pill for 6 years. I always knew the pill wasn't safe, but after that, I swore it off. At 24, I should've been way fertile instead of struggling to conceive.

Well, it took a long time and some intervention to have DD11. When she was almost 4 months old I found out I was 7 weeks pregnant. I had been nursing, hadn't had a period yet and was told I would probably need more intervention to get pregnant again. Oh, and we were being a little careful.

So I don't know if I am fertile myrtle, but I am not taking any more chances. :rotfl:

How wonderful!!!! :cloud9::cloud9:

I've been pregnant 4 times (2 were misses), and I have 2 beautiful children. All 4 were conceived the 1st time we tried.

Count me in as a fertile myrtle -

1st - got pregnant the first month

2nd - got pregnant the first month - miscarried at 11 weeks

3rd - got pregnant the first month
