I was wondering if there is info somewhere (or if someone could provide it) on where exactly the 2nd person waits for some rides. When we go in Nov, DD will be 4 and will go on some, but 2nd DD will be 19mos and wont go on any of those. We've never been w/kids before, and therefore never done the swap. The rides we're interested in are:

Splash Mountain (w/DD4)
Big Thunder (w/DD4)
Space Mtn (neither DDs)
Rock n Rollercoaster (neither DDs)

Thanks!

My wife and I went last April w/ our 9m old. The other parent just waits outside. The cast member just gives you a ticket like a fast pass and you go in on the fast pass line. We were able to fast pass two rides at a time since we only neede to present one ticket per ride.

When are you coming? We might be able to meet you for a day or two while you are here so we can all kid swap that way you could go on rides with your hubby and visa versa. We live here, so we are able to meet up easily!

1. For Splash Mountain and Big Thunder, there is a playground called the Laughing Place near the exit to Splash Mountain. When you get your ticket, don't forget to get DD's "Future Splash Mountainerr" Card (SO CUTE!!)
2. For Space Mountain, if you don't want to hang around outside, you can take the little ones on the TTA (people mover). It takes up between 10-15 minutes, and my nephews, 5 & 3 and DD2 loved it, because you can go inside Space Mountain and see it! We went around twice, because after the first trip around we still saw our bigger people in line! They'll let you stay on!

You can wait wherever you would like!! We used childswap lots in Dec 04 and Feb o5 with my inlaws and dear neice and nephew.

You can child swap by using FP or the standby line, depending on which makes more sense when you go (lines or not!). Either way just tell the CM when you enter the line that you want to do a child swap. The non-riding child must be present but can stay in the stroller. The CM gives the non riding parent a child swap pass good for three people total to return and ride anytime that day using the FP line (little to no wait!).

The first party rides the ride and the other parent and non-riding kid(s) can do what they like. Meet up at your designated point and the second parent can ride and take two others with them, you don't have to ride alone.

What we do while the first party rides:
Splash and BTMR, the playground under splash and or ride the railroad around once.
Space Mt - TTA and maybe even Buzz if the line isn't long or we have FP. RnRC - usually an ice cream or somtimes B&TB depending on show times. Lut last trip SIL and I took the wee ones to PLayhouse Disney while BIL and DH took the older kids on RnRC. Then we switched, that worked very well.

You can also use this time to hit the babycare center, change diapers and even grab a snack or lunch.

Thanks for all the replies. For some reason I was thinking you'd wait right up front or at the exit, but I guess there would be way too many people there that way. Thanks again!

Your right, before fast pass one parent waited with the kids at the exit and when the first group was done the second parent went back through the exit to ride. Now that most of the rides, esp those with height restrictions, have fast passes they use the child swap pass instead.

It worked out very well for us since the non riding kids can do something else instead of waiting at the exit.

On star tours the whole party waits in the line abd then the non riders sit on the benches outside of the simulators.
