Another AP voucher to $399 PAP story

I spent 2 hours reading through the long thread and a few other threads trying to figure out what is currently being done at GR regarding upgrading AP vouchers to the DVC PAP deal. My head was hurting. Today I went to GR at the IG of Epcot. I brought 2 plastic DVC AP vouchers that I bought for $419 each plus tax. I wanted to get one active $399 PAP and one $399 PAP voucher to use for another PAP next December. I read many different scenarios so I will add mine here. I WAS able to trade my $419 AP vouchers for one active PAP and one PAP voucher that will expire 12/31/13. I also got a refund via a gift card for $55.38. I think that gift card amount was too much but I was in a hurry to get to the Member Mixer before it closed, so I did not question it. I know some have had problems, especially at the IG Guest Relations, but the CM I had seemed to be very familiar with doing this.

Good for you, Jean -- thanks for sharing the success story!

Glad to hear this; we'll be trying to trade in our AP vouchers next week for the PAPs and hope it goes smoothly!

I only wish they would issue a plastic PAP like a room key instead of the paper ones.

We're going to be pressed for time next week on arrival day with meeting up with/directing relatives, etc. If DH takes our AP voucher, my ID and DVC card to Guest Relations, will they let him get both our passes without me there?

This would enable him to take one group of relatives into the park while I stay back at the resort to meet up with a later-arriving group. The idea is for him to meet me at the gate with my AP when the later group arrives.

No refund gift card for us like some have experienced when we upgraded our DVC AP (new not renewal) voucher yesterday for the PAP. CM said they'd been directed to be consistent and this was considered a complimentary upgrade.
