Another AP upgrade thread

So I'm thinking of upgrading to an AP, still trying to make sense of the numbers. I have 2 day tickets in April, going for one day in May and 3 days in October. I believe it would cost about $600 for the tickets this way, before taxes, and the AP would be about $750 before taxes. It would be nice to have MM, though I wouldn't have purchased it separately for each trip because it wouldn't have been worth it. The trip in October is a mother/daughter long weekend and it would be nice to have MM for that. I don't believe buying TIW for the discount at sit down restaurants would be helpful, as we don't go to many. Free parking is only useful on one of the days, other two trips are onsite without a car. I am also going to FL in August and Dec, though these were not Disney trips. But if I had an AP, I might sneak a day or two in. WWYD?

If I upgrade to an AP, from what I read, I have to do it at guest services, not over the phone or online. Do I have to use one day of the 2day ticket first, then to go guest services, or does it not matter?

My other question is that I have a package for the October trip and DD would still need tickets. Would I have to do a room only reservation instead and get her tickets separately? Thanks for input!

1. Yes.
2. That depends on how, when and from whom you bought the ticket.
3. Yes.

Thanks, Robo. The April tickets (2 day) and package were bought through Disney, I have already paid for them.

ETA: Okay, i'm good, saw a post with similar questions and answers :)
