Another AP question

We are Massachusetts residents who also own a home in Clearwater Fl. Last year we bought Florida Resident Weekday Select Passes. I ended up making 5 trips to Disney in the last calendar year so the pass was more than worth it.

Our AP's expire mid April and we decided to do one more trip to take advantage of the last few days of our passes. Unfortunately after booking the trip I realized Disney blocked out that week we were planning on using our passes. My solution was to buy 3 day Resident Tickets which we could then roll over into renewing our AP's for next year. Because there are no blackouts with the 3 days ticket we moved our trip to the weekend following our original book date. This means our passes will now expire the day before we check in and be expired throughout our stay until we renew them on the last day of our trip. My question is will I be able to use my AP card for my usual discounts or will I be out of luck until I renew them on our last day? Our trip is Thursday to Sunday so if I renew before my current pass expires I'll again be blacked out the week we're there.

I appreciate any thoughts and feedback!

Why not just renew on your first day? The pass activates from the first day the ticket is used not from the day you pay the difference.

I assumed once I rolled the cost of the 3 day tickets into the AP's the AP's would make those tickets void and I'd be subject to the same blackout dates we currently are. Do I have that wrong?

Nope I think you’re correct sorry. Was thinking the issue was the Ap’s expiring not the black out dates. I was thinking once you moved the trip you were good there.

If there is any difficulty, it never hurts to "ask nicely."
But, if (IF) the rules technically are that you must be a current AP holder (maybe, maybe not) then you'll be liable for the full price.

Either way, you're going to get another AP and STILL get to (in effect) "USE IT" during blackout days.
A pretty good deal, in itself.

Very true and I just remembered my Disney Visa gives me 10% off merchandise and 10% off dining at Brown Derby and Flying Fish, 2 spots we have booked this trip.
