Another AP question?

I am thinking about a trip at the end of April/beginning of May. I am trying to work out the numbers to see if buying an AP would be the best way to go. If they release AP rates for my dates I would like to be able to book a room at that rate before committing to the AP. Is this possible?

I have done this..I'm pretty sure it's fine as long as you have your AP at check in
