Another Annual Pass Question

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but, concerning annual passes; I understand that the time doesn't count down on a pass until it is first used, but if you purchase an annual pass and don't use it for park admission the first time until 5 or 6 months later, are you still considered an annual passholder for discount purposes, such as shopping or resort discounts? I'm probably wishing for way too much!

The clock starts when your pass is activated, not when it's "used". If you buy a pass at Guest Relations it's activated right there. If you buy it elsewhere, like online or at a AAA office, you get a voucher card that you will exchange at Guest Relations for an activated pass.

To get AP discounts you have to have an activated pass. You can, however, request an AP resort room discount for the stay at which you intend to activate your pass.

I would say this is true. I purchased our AP's online on 2/12/11 but did not pick it up/activate it until 2/20/11 and on the back of my AP the expiration date is listed as 2/20/12.

Except for renewal. On those the original date stays the same.

Are there AP discount rates for FW? I just couldnt imagine it could be much due to the low rate for it in the first place but just thinking and maybe planning the future.
