Al Lutz posted his regular update today after six long weeks. And it is blockbuster in scope. Here is a link:

www.miceage.com/allutz/al082807a.htm

Here are some of the many highlights:

At DCA

1. DCA Projects - $1.2 Billion to be spent on improvements (original DCA budget was about $700 million)

2. Philharmagic is coming to DCA - looks like a done deal

3. DCA expanding entrance out to the CALIFORNIA letters

4. Golden Gate Bridge to be removed.

5. Theming of DCA entrance to the 1920's when Walt arrived in CA

6. Hollywood Pictures Backlot to be expanded significantly to the Hollywood of 20's and 30's

7. Limos and street cars in HPB like DL's Main Street

8. Hyperion theater to be upgraded, a lobby added, stairs enclosed

9. Massive changes around lagoon to support new Wonderful World of Color (WWC) night time show to open in 2009

10. Expansion of DCA boundaries to the south into the Timon parking lot

At DL

11. Minor ride changes being considered for POTC over next year

12. IJA changes before Indy 4 movie comes out next year (this plays into recent rumors of an extensive Indy refurb in early 2008)

13. Upgrade to the DL dark rides

14. Improvements to Tomorrowland to fix "theme damage" done by prior management

15. More discussion of the return of the People Mover

16. Long rumored upgrade to Star Tours (being called Star Tours 2.0) coming closer to reality

17. New E-ticket in Tomorrowland which will expand the borders of DL out to Harbor

Outside DL/DCA

18. Gardenwalk - new hotels and stores off Katella

19. More discussion of third park off Katella

20. Remodeling the DLH

21. Disney battles with Anaheim and zoning around DLR

And, believe it or not, there is more in the article. Enjoy. :thumbsup2

ETA: Note that the highlights in this article represents current thinking at the company and are not all set in stone. They give you an idea of where things are going, not necessarily of what will happen exactly.

Thanks for letting us know, Trey. I don't check Miceage every day.

I'm going to have to find a good chunk of time (without kids around) to read and digest that whole thing.

- dont forget at DCA, Beer Garden to be placed at Route 66 as well as a possible new Mermaid ride...

- GardenWalk hotels may be disney sponsored. Not owned by DIsney but rights to Disney characters possible be there...

Thanks for the great info, almost like Christmas so much to look forward to. The changes to CA sound the most exciting, the park will be better then ever!

This is ofc DCA only... and only 2 carts that got this upgrade at Disneyland... :)

I was talking about the carts with air conditioning in the summer, heat in the winter, padded recliner seats and Mickey Mouse holographic projections. ;)

That was a very interesting read. Lots of stuff to look forward to, especially where DCA is concerned.

HOWEVER --

The possible addition of Tia Dalma to the Blue Bayou in POTC????
Please, somebody, STOP THE INSANITY!!!! :headache:

I can hardly wait to see how it all transpires over the next few years. It will be very exciting and interesting!:thumbsup2

Now, if only they would add Magical Express...:goodvibes

Off to read the article now, but WOW, it all sounds great so far! PhilharMagic is one of our favorite MK attractions at WDW, it will be a perfect addition to DCA!

To see the place making store fronts come to life with a purpose. Oh the joy! And, the San Francisco row houses showcasing Disney projects...Maybe we will see Disney Gallery in there too?! That would be nice, since they haven't really found a home for that yet. Unless I missed something...entirely possible.

No more Molluhund Madness? YAY! My DH will love the Victorian Beer Garden, sounds like it might be a good place to relax while the kids stretch their wings and ride a few rides back there.

I like the sounds of all of this. With a few exceptions, but hey, a little over the top is expected, isn't it?

Good things on the Horizon for Anaheim that will encourage us all to keep coming back.

My family (well, the kids anyway) love Mullholland Madness, but DH and I really won't miss it too much. The new coaster replacing it sounds much more fun though, so our kids will still be happy! On the other hand, DH and I LOVE Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom at WDW - SO FUN, I giggle throughout the entire ride!:woohoo:

And I agree, the Victorian Beer Garden sounds like a great place to kick back and relax!:thumbsup2

Upgrades to the DL Dark Rides? I've got some reading to do.

& a big :thumbsup2 to Philharmagic.

I've read Al Lutz' articles for many a year. I totally trust what he writes as truth :goodvibes . Thanks so much for the info and I'll go on over and read the article!! :thumbsup2

Ah gonna miss the Muppets, will have to make sure and get that in a few times in Oct. I don't know much about Philharmagic, from what others say it's great. So I look forward to that. Just wish they could have put it somewhere else instead of taking away the Muppets. I can think of a few things that could have gone instead.

Love that they are putting in a Mermaid ride. That will be cool! Not to mention all the other upgrades. Sounds like it's going to be really messy over there with all the construction that will be happening!
