I couldn't stand the wait anymore so I called to check on our one night at AKL on August 31st - we have 2 rooms and apparently it was going to be affected so we've been switched to GF - we have a lagoon view since we had a pool view and my brother has a club level since he had a savanna view.

life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I'm sure we'll have a great time and still get to check out a resort we've never stayed at yet. AKL can wait till next time!

space ranger 1, based on your trip ticker, and what others have reported here, you might be receiving a call in a few days! I've read that some of those who've been called have trips that start at the end of August and go into Sept.

Who did you call? When I call the regular rep just says everything is fine.

Well so far the best I can figure they are only calling people who actually arrive before Sept. People arriving on Sept 1 and later don't seem to be contacted yet. My TA has a guest arriving on the first and she has been calling to see about it and they (the magical and mystical group of people "in charge") don't seem to have a definite move order on those people yet. And that may be a very big yet. I am sure they have a monumental task of trying to figure out who to move where and when. I am guessing we have a few more days before they decide hwat to do for those arriving in Sept. Knowing how fluid construction schedules are I am sure they have a whole team of people going crazy trying to figure out what to do. It's all good and we will figure something out if and when the time comes.:goodvibes

But thanks for giving me a heads up, that would be a bad one to be blind sided by. There are plenty of people to attest to that.
 
Hey Bits, I couldn't wait either. I made the call for our trip next month and also moved to GF. I figured I didn't want to stress out totally on this trip and we also have a very short trip (3 nights) so being on monorail was a major plus as well. I also would never be able to afford GF otherwise , so this might be a great opportunity :-) Have fun!
I always called regular reservation line first and spoke with a CM and asked them to transfer my call to a customer service rep. handling the Animal Kingdom moves. This is the only way I was ever able to get through. The direct line is usually tied up and you have to leave a recorded message. Good luck everyone!

I called the regular reservation line and questioned the person on the phone about it then asked if perhaps I could talk to the people handling the move just to be sure. I was transferred to them and they said I would have recieved the call within the next week or so anyway. Told them we really didn't want SSR since we were DVC members and they asked where we would like to stay - I gave her the choices of GF #1 or YC #2
