Has anyone who has been moved from AKL and going in the next couple of weeks considered calling CRO to see if you could move back to AKL? I just have read a few posts that are saying the construction is going along much better than anticipated so I wonder if they have more free rooms open now. Just a thought, I am fixed on staying at WL now but was just curious if this would work.:confused3

NOT! We got the Poly, 3 adults gardenview for $163.84 a night with tax. It was a great price for AKL but it is an unheard of price at the Poly. Although I would love to stay at AKL one day, I'm sure not going to give up this great opportunity handed to me by the DW God's!

Hey Cheryl,

totally understand that one. I'm just curious if they may have called some of us a bit prematurely, but I don't want to find out now because I have my mind set on WL -trying to make the best of it! But, lately on the boards I haven't seen anyone being called so just wondered if the construction has finished inside or it is better in regards to noise level.

Last thing that I had read was that it was pretty noisy out by the pool, that was a few days ago. I'm still spending a little bit of time over there because we plan on still eating at Boma and enjoying the resorts site's while we are there.

Ditto ,we're elected to move to the Poly, though we were first disappointed at leaving AKL, and after much thought. No way would we bother switching back.I would rathter go back to the AKL when the dust has settled :)
Poly bound & very excited
15 days....

My family is leaving for the Poly in 24 hours and I could not be happier. I woke up at 6am this morning because I am so excited and I can not sleep. I would not switch back to the AKL now for anything. I totally re-adjusted my dining plans once I was told that I was moving to the Poly.

We will be landing in MCO this time tomorrow and can't wait to check into the Poly.

And we just returned last night...enjoy the Dole whips on the beach.

If it's any consolation to those of you moved, one of the AKL CMs at the
Arusha Savannah viewpoint told us that the animals in the Sunset Savannah will be moved to their pens starting this week because of the construction noise...which confirms what the DVC rep told us in the lodge that they are ahead of construction schedule and are now working on the wing overlooking the sunset savannah...which means LESS savannah view rooms and a few more upset guests who are already in those rooms. We met a lady who didn't see any animals in the early am(because they are in their pens getting their special diets...savannah CMs told us that) and then after breakfast, there was the giraffe, zebras and the red river hogs<G> And not those animals supposedly won't be there this week:rolleyes1

We talked another guest that was on that side of the building and they said that there was noise during the day but not really loud. (For whatever that's worth<G>)

We spent the late afternoon at AKL walking around and watching the animals. Very beautiful place, a little dark for my aging eyes but beautiful.
