Another AKL concierge view question

I am planning a stay at AKL concierge for NOV 2004. My DD5 is animal crazy. From other postings, I understand the concierge rooms are on 5th and 6th floors. I really want a good savannah view and would rather be closer to the animals.

1) Can you request a room on a lower floor and still be concierge?

2) Are the views better on the lower floors, especially for a 3 1/2 foot DD or did any of you with little ones regret being so high up?

3) Should I just get a savannah room and request a lower level and skip the concierge?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that under most circumstances, you need to be in one of the concierge rooms to have concierge services.

We've been on the 3rd and 5th floor, and found really no difference in viewing the animals between them.

Hi Dizzny!

We're in the same boat! I am staying AKL concierge 5 weeks from today!!!! (can you tell I'm a little excited???) Anyway, I would like to stay on the 2nd floor because the viewing was unbelievable. I contacted concierge and they said, "no problem!". It'll be a bit of a hike to the lounge, but I'm not concerned!

Thanks for the info, when I make my reservation I will make the request as well. I know my DD5 would be disappointed to be so far up when there are available views so much closer. The hike to the lounge is secondary to the views. Thanks again and have a wonderful trip.
