We arrive at Pearson (Whatever Terminal Westjet is in) at 9:00am on a Sunday. Our connecting flight departs at 10:30 am. I believe we have to pick up our lugguage at the carousel, and then go through customs. This doesn't all seem possible in that amount of times if there is going to be a huge line up! Do the people who control the lines let passengers ahead if they have a connecting flight?

Our flight was scheduled this way by westjet, so it must be doable..has anyone had experience with this?

I haven't done this at Pearson, but I have in Calgary. We flew Vancouver to Calgary and on to Houston, Tx. I believe we did NOT collect our luggage at the carousel, but in a room along the "In transit" hall. We then went through customs and put our bags through. It didn't take very long if I remember. I think you should be ok. Hopefully others with experience at Pearson will be able to give you more information.

Yes, you do have to collect your bags and bring them through customs. 90 minutes in Terminal 3 should be plenty. And yes if you think you're not going to make it through customs talk to one of the many people working in the area and they'll fast-track you through the customs line.

Hi We flew air canada kingston to toronto then toronto to dallas in july. It is pretty clearly marked what to do. Your first flight is a regional one? one of the little planes? We left our first plane with just our carry on and had to walk aways and it is marked. We had to show our paper work and we picked up our baggage just before we saw customs. You then drop your bags off before security. Just ask along the way, everyone is helpful. It was pretty simple and quick on the way to the states.
On the way home we had to get our luggage from the main carasel and then go through customs before we got our next plane. we did not have enough time as it took over an hour to just get our bags and we missed our flight. we had to take a later flight home which sucked.
have a great trip

Thanks for the replies everyone. And ccudmore, thank you for the link. It did help. I am so thankful that we are travelling without children this time. Last time we had a direct flight to Orlando which was really nice. I believe it only operates on certain days though! I am crossing my fingers that all goes smoothly and we don't miss our connection! Only 3 more weeks to go! :cool1:
