To make a really long story short, my Dad is now joining us for our trip in May. I already had all my ADRs book, we were a party of 3Adults & 4 kids. We'll now be a party of 8. Luckiy I was able to go online and switch to 8 for most of my ADRs

Of course the ones I'm having trouble with is CRT and Mama Melrose Fantasmic package.

I had called my DVC cm to add my Dad to the room and asked him about the problems with the the 2 ADRs, and he told to just go and that it wouldn't be a problem.

My youngest is turning 3 the week before we go, so it's not a big deal to have her on our lap...that's usually where she ends up anyway! But will they even allow this if they can't get a table for 8?

In my head I'm thinking if they have a table for 7, we certainly should be able to seat 8 at the same table...it's not like we are going from 4 to 5 people.

What does everyone think???

oh, and I also called the dining number and he couldn't help us either...

Even though there may be room at the table for an 8th person (and even the 3 year old will count), the restaurant could be at maximum occupancy for that time frame. Think firecodes. Keep trying to get your ADR updated. People cancel ADRs all the time so you might get lucky. Be warned that just walking up with an extra person doesn't mean that extra person will be seated. Someone may have to make other plans for that meal time. Good luck!

I had this issue last year, when I did not realize that an infant had to be counted on our reservation.

We went from a party of 6 to a party of 7.

I kept checking the ones I couldn't change initially, until someone cancelled. The last one, I couldn't get a table. It was Prime Time 50's cafe. We were in a booth and it was a bit tight, but we managed.

Keep checking; it will come up eventually.

The chances that your additional person will be excluded for fire codes is small, as the restaurant would have to be at its maximum capacity at the time you check in, but it does exist.
