If I call my guide Tuesday would I be able to get June UY at the BLT for a 100 point add on?
Also if I got June UY would I get the points for this year (2009)?
If I get the points for June 2009 would my dues be back dated for June this year or would my dues start when I close my sale?

Thanks

Doesn't matter much what we think. The contract is between you and Disney and the terms are subject to change until you sign. Your Guide is the best source for this type of information.

I just added on at BLT, with a June UY and yes, I got my 2009 points. I would say if you added on in the next few weeks, you will be getting the 2009 points.

The MF's for BLT do not start for anyone until the resort opens. I was told, with a June UY, that I will pay 4 months of fees for this year. Member accounting told me that I would get a bill sometime in September for them.

Typically, though, when you buy, you pay MF's from the time you purchase to the end of the year. MF's are calendar year and not based on UY.

Good luck!

Wouldn't you owe about 5 months of dues for 2009? The way it's usually calculated is that you would owe dues starting from the later of your purchase date, the start of your initial UY and the occupancy date of the unit you purchased. Assuming your occupancy date is 8/4/09, I would expect you would owe dues based on the number of days left in the year starting from 8/4/09 which would be approximately 5 months worth (150 days to be exact). The bill would be issued about a month after the start of the billing period so if you paid monthly, your first payment would probably be on Sep 1 meaning that you would pay 5 months worth of dues spread over 4 payments (Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec).

That is what I thought and then I called member accounting to check. They gave me the total that would be due and said it was due by Oct 15th. The amount they gave me worked out to only 4 months worth of dues.

The only thing I can think of is that BLT is opening 4 days into the month of August and was slated for Sept 1st opening originally. Maybe it is easier to have the dues start then, instead of having to figure out how to reduce August's dues by 4 days (which I don't think they can charge you MF's until the resort actually opens).

Of course, when I get the bill or a figure shows up in my account, then I will know for sure.

Ah, yes, BLT was originally slated to open on Sep 1 so that is probably the occupancy date of the units that were sold so that will be the start date for the pro-rated dues. Makes sense. So you will owe 122 days worth of dues then.

They always calculate the first year's dues based on the number of days so they would have no problem pro-rating the dues as of Aug 4th if they could legally do so. They do this all the time for people who add on at a resort that is already open. In that case the dues would be pro-rated from June 13th or Nov 9th or whatever day the add-on happened to be purchased.

Thanks! That is good to know as I am sure I will be adding on again!!! I just called again to verify and they said I won't get billed until September and that it is not due until Oct.

If you get a chance, I'm curious what your paperwork lists as the occupancy date of the unit you purchased. Just wondering if it's Sep 1 or Aug 4.

It says August 4th.

Thanks for the info. Now I'm completely confused!! So it looks like you are getting a bit of a break on your 2009 dues, a rare thing where the Mouse is concerned!
