Another 3 year old question... too young for pins?

My son will be turning 3 when we do Disney next year. I'm thinking he will be too young to be interested in pins? I don't want to be wrong and have him wanting to buy a bunch of pins when I could have gotten them before hand for much cheaper! LOL

We took DD when she was 2.5 and she loved the pins, but we didn't trade. We just collected. The lanyard is displayed in her room as a fun 'rememory' of our trip.

Now, that being said, we are going down next week and I am 'planning' on introducing her to pin trading. (She is now 3.5) I have a few pins for her to trade, but if she isn't interested, then that is fine too. I will just save the pins for a future trip.

We took our 2 1/2 and 4 year old girls for the first time in May and they LOVED pin trading.
we let them pick out a lanyard and we did the pin backings for them but they got to pick the pin they wanted to trade etc.

the one thing that I did was to put their favorites,the ones they wouldnt trade -on their straps of their carriage. that way is wasnt too heavy on their necks on their lanyards and it looked cool as they were being wheeled around.

have a great time and I think you are better safe than sorry,get some pins beforehand cheap and if he isnt into pin trading,you can do the trading,its addicting,lol or just sell them on ebay when you get backl

My little ones really enjoy trading pins. DH helps them out by asking the CM if the kids can see their lanyard, etc and then helping the kids pick one of ours to trade.

We took my twins at 8 months old, and my nephew at 14 months old. My brother introduced my nephew at 14 months old and he seemed to enjoy it. We then took the twins at 2/3 (turned 3 during that week) and they LOVED trading pins. In fact, my daughter LOVES to "read" pins almost an entire year after our trip. They can't wait until we go in November.

at that age its up to you. if you dont want them to do it, you dont even have to mention it. at that age they dont notice what others are doing. but if you want him to get into it you can certainly convince him its fun and coax him to do it.

we just got back with our children 8,4 and 3. the 8 yo has been pin trading for years. before we went my 4yo said he wanted to trade this year and i was all ready to buy him a starter set, but when it came right down to it, he just didnt care all that much. he would rather i spent that money on legos and such. i could have pushed him, but i didnt see any reason to. my 3yo, he didnt even know it was going on around him. even watching his sister, he didnt care.

My DS was 4 when we started pin trading. He loves it. He loves the whole process of it. He will pass by and check the lanyards of every cast member. He won't wear a lanyard. He has no problem with me wearing all the pins. He also doesn't like to give away the pins he collects. Sometimes I have to hide pins so that I have some to trade for myself.
