Another 1st timer question.....this one about Atlantis..........

Ok another noobee question. Again we're travelling on the Wonder in March on a 4 day cruise....Our FIRST!

My wife and I have pretty much agreed on the Sting Ray Adventure and the Key Lime Pie Bike tour. Its our day in the Bahamas' that is at issue. We have the "Discover Atlantis tour" booked but we're just not sure about it. My question is can we tour Atlantis (walk around, visit the casino, etc) on our own?

Following. We cruise in April and also plan to book the Discover Atlantis, as we do not want to visit it water park or beach, just the Aquarium and Casino. Its an adult only cruise, so the casino is a must do for us this trip. Not sure if all of Atlantis is open to tour if you are not with an excursion group. Would love to hear what others have experienced. Would also love to have some insight on the casino.

My husband goes to the casino at the Atlantis every time we cruise to Nassau (most recently last month). He takes a cab from the port. I believe it is a flat rate and very reasonable. No need to book an excursion just to go to casino and walk around a bit.

You sure can visit the casino on your own and walk around the main area of the hotel (and Mall attached) on your own. Ever since 9/11, you can no longer just walk around the
grounds at will though. There is a charge now and, unless recently changed, you must have a wristband to do so. Employees were stationed at the walkways for this.

You may also take a tour of the Aquarium on your own, the entrance of which is off the lower level of the Lobby. Last time I did this (5 years ago) the fee was $39.00 but has
increased I'm sure. Enjoy.
