Annual/Season Passholders - Free Dining Woes!

And split stays are OUT. I'm assuming we would have to buy two 2 day park tickets, correct?

There goes my split stay between POP and AKL :(

BTW, do you think we can add the 3 day Florida Resident base ticket? It's only a few dollars more. We would definately upgrade them.

"Unless Disney changes their policy and allows more than one ticket to be placed toward an AP, I will not be paying almost $450 dollars for three 2 day tickets that we can someday put towards an AP. "

Is that true? In my case, I know I would have to buy 2-Day tickets for my family 4 people (who all already have Seasonal Passes) in order to get the Free Dining-- BUT I can only use the Value of 1-Day's worth of the 2-Day tickets to be applied against my Seasonal Pass renewal in 2011?

If that was the case, I don't know how I would ever get to redeem the value of the "2nd" day of unused tickets. Any insights?

No, you can apply a single 2-day ticket toward each renewal just fine. (We had five day park hoppers that we used towards ours last year). What you can not do (that the poster is referring to) is take two or more separate one day passes and apply them towards an AP renewal. Hope that helps! :)

Can you take two or more separate one-day passes and apply them to the cost of a 10-day ticket? Is it just the Annual Passes that have the limitation?

No, the same rules apply as far as upgrading a ticket to a multi day pass or annual pass. This thread has everything you could ever want to know about tickets, upgrading them, etc:

As an AP holder, I will not be booking the free dining package with the new requirement of two day tickets. We already have nine unused one day tickets from previous free dining promotions. Unless Disney changes their policy and allows more than one ticket to be placed toward an AP, I will not be paying almost $450 dollars for three 2 day tickets that we can someday put towards an AP.

I'm in the same boat. Back before AP holders weren't required to buy one day tickets to buy the DDP I went several times with the DDP, so had to buy one day tickets. I've also been every year since free dining first started and had to buy one day tickets. Then last spring I took advantage of the buy 4/get 3 nights free deal and had to buy one day tickets for that. Since you can apply only one ticket each year to upgrade your AP, I too have a surplus of one day tickets. No way am I using this current offer.

I booked the bounceback when I was there last fall and it required only a one day ticket. However the last check in date for that deal I believe was Sept 29th. Since we must vacation from Sat-Sun, I had to book our stay for Sept 25th-Oct 3rd, but was hoping the GP free dining offer would go for a longer time. We were really wanting to go the next week so we'd be there for a full week of the Food & Wine Festival. With the end date for current offer being Oct 2nd it'd work, but not if we have to buy two day tickets. I'm thinking about canceling my current bounceback free dining ressie and just waiting for an AP discount for that week.

This may be confusing, but I have a question. We currently have AP's and are doing a split stay (5 nights DVC then 4 nights at Pop with FD) It has to be that way because our vacation starts Aug 12. We are bringing 2 friends but they already have GAD vouchers and will be buying PH's with that at the beginning of the vacation. That means I will have 6 2 day MYW tickets to use in the future. Are the 2 day tickets in each person's name and can I use them for other family members when I renew our DVC AP's? Does that make sense? :confused3

The tickets are not usually attached to a person so you could use them to upgrade to the AP's for others.

All my extra tix have come on my KTTW card with names on them cause they said they can't seperate them.
Can I still use the ticket entitlement for someone else. Some of the kids are now adults so I have child tickets with their name that they couldn't use anyways.

We had 1 each GAD tickets and 2 each KTTW tickets in our names so it will take us 3 years to use up the tix we already have upgrading to FL passes.

Its my impression that the tix have to used only by the person named on the card, and that if you have a child ticket in your name it can be upgraded to an adult ticket or that value used toward a more expensive pass.

I was hoping to do a free dining this fall/winter, but not if we have to buy a 2 day ticket. We will be local by then anyway so really don't even need the hotel room.

I thought someone said you could get a hard ticket after turning it in to guest services. Is this not correct? I was under the assumption I could give the tickets to my nephews.

Thanks.

Just take your unused ticket to any Guest Relations window & tell them you want to transfer that ticket to someone else. I did that earlier this month, took an unused ticket (adult) from a previous free dining trip, transferred it to my grandson (child), then upgraded it to an AP for him. The original price of the ticket was discounted from the price of his AP.

I did not know you could do this, thanks for the tip!

Are the tickets on the KTTK card? If so how do you save them until it is time To renew? Our renewal is march 2011. Can they give you a physical ticket instead ? We're running the numbers now to see if the ap or fla res would come out which would work better for us. I am not sure we want to prepay for the tics, then hold onto them and worry about losing them.

The DisBoards is such a wealth of information!!! That info just fell into my lap a couple days before I bought my grandson his AP. Was advised tho if CM said it couldn't be done to ask for a supervisor, but I had no problem at all from Guest Relations @ DisneyQuest in DTD.

I may be one of the only ones who loathes free dining as this does nothing but jam up the parks and basically guarantees little to no luck getting adr's.

Thank you! We have all these one day tickets and with our Ap's we don't need them so we had hoped to upgrade some for my SIL and nieces. Also a nice start if the kids want to take a friend with them on one of our trips.
