Annual Salary Increases - What % does your company give?

well, I haven't gotten a raise in the past four years, despite great reviews; so I think you are lucky.

My DH hasn't had a raise in 10 years and just had a 20% pay cut in January. Anyone receiving any kind of a raise should feel very special with today's economy. Remember 16 million people are unemployed!

Also in education, my salary will be frozen for the next two years. That's what I get for living in the state with the most corrupt government--celebrity apprentice, anyone?

I use to work for our state government and did not realize how good I had it until I left to work in the private sector three years ago. Unfortunately, I did not realize the value of the States Retirement plan that is 100% funded by the State. When you run the numbers, it is such an incredible benefit.

Last March my employer cut the managers and directors pay by 30% plus took away promised bonuses from profit sharing and also discontinued the retirement program. Yikes, that's a hit! Oh, how I long for the days of minimal or no pay increases :guilty:

Any suggestions on how to convince DH it is still a good idea to go to Disney!? I say as long as we are both still employed we are blessed and should celebrate with a trip!

Not for long. Our legislature is trying to find ways to gut the retirement for state employees also. It used to be that we traded benefits for crappy wages. My husbands job requires a master's degree and he started at $22,000 annual salary.

Normally my company gives about 4% COLA, but this fiscal year they cut it to 2% due to the economy. Believe me, nobody complained! We got through it without any layoffs, though we did/do have a hireing freeze (I think it was partially lifted).

We do not get COLA, only merit increases. I believe the max is 4% and is very rare. 3% for excellent, 2% for good, 1% for ok, 0% for average or below.

No raises lately at our company and it was just pennies an hour before. No one gets rich where I work! (Well, except for Management of course.)

I received 1.7% COLA this year. I can't get merit increases anymore cause I am at the top of my pay scale. Only bonuses if they are offered and those only to the top performers. Oh the stress to stay at the top.

Well, if I had answered for DH when the thread was written, I would have said that his bonus had increased and he had gotten a promotion, so we were sitting well.

But 2009 brought a major pay cut. He received NO bonus in 2009 and no salary increase at all, so his salary went down.

Dawn

I am fortunate to be with a company that gave me a 4.3% raise this year and also a 5% bonus. I still think the pay is low for the job but I am thankful to have a job. It breaks my heart hearing of those with lost wages or even lost jobs. :(

Gov't employee here. No COLA for two years (and doesn't look to be happening this year) and raises have been frozen for three--also not to be getting better anytime soon. :guilty: It's very depressing indeed when you continue to do a great job, get good reviews but not be rewarded in the form of a raise. But I've got a job, right? So what's a girl to do?! :confused3

I work for a non profit, usually we can get up to 3% but this year there are no raises...the new fiscal year starts July 1st so we will find out if we get any raises next year.

We have a merit system. This year if you meet expectations you get 1%. This is graduated up to the top (for those that walk on water) of 2%. We did receive a 1% COLA this year, last year, no COLA.

As mentioned by others, I have a job and I am grateful. I also have a fairly good benefits package.

I work for a pretty big company. Anyway, last year, we didn't get anything. This year, I got 2%, but I think the average was 3%. I'm a SAHM work only works PT at night from home, so I'm happy with my 2%.
