Me (38) Many, many trips to WDW since 1972 and love it more each time!
DH (39) Plays along with my obsession
DD (8) 3rd trip and learning to love it as much as me!
This was our second full day at Epcot so we decided to slow the pace down a bit today. We didnt have any firm plans except our 5:15 CP show and 7:00 CP dinner at Le Cellier.
We started off the day with breakfast at Kona. This was tonga toast day for me. As much as I love this I can only eat it about once every two or three years and this was my year! It was so yummy. But, as usual, I could only eat about ½ of it. David had the omelet again and Abby had the Mickey pancake again.
We wanted to stop by MK and hit Fantasyland first thing this morning as we didnt get to any of it on Monday. We were at the turnstiles for the opening and up Main St we went do not pass go, do not collect $200. We were on a mission. Success. We got to FL and had the place to ourselves. An hour and 15 minutes late we had ridden everything. I just love this little section of the park it is WDW to me. I enjoy its a small world as much today as I did when I was 5. And the new and improved iasw just sparkles they did a great job with the refurb. Since we were able to hit everything we wanted to in such a short amount of time we treated ourselves to a visit with our 999 friends at the HM. The crowds were non existent and we walked right on!
I was so tempted to stay and do a few more things since there were no waits for anything but David pulled me away reminding me we still had a full day planned here on Friday. So out we went and hoped on the monorail to the TTC and then on to Epcot.
We visited several of the pavilions in FW again and finally got to take a spin on TT. We grabbed a FP for Soarin and hung out with Stupid Judy. Another ride on SE and it was time for Soarin which was our 3rd trip this week and still just as wonderful. Took a spin on Living With the Land and then we went to Mars on M:S but for some reason it didnt agree with me this time normally I have no problems with it. Abby and David felt great afterwards so I guess it was just me. We took the Friendship boat over to WS and meandered through some countries all looked beautiful with their Christmas decorations out.
It was getting close to our show time for CP so we headed over to the theater. We got ok seats in the reserved section I would have liked to have been closer to the middle but we got there about 10 minutes after they let CP dinner package people in so we were somewhat to the right. Our narrator was Phil Donahue who I loved growing up. This show is spectacular. If youve never seen it you should make a point to. It just sends chills all up and down my spine and by the end I had tears coming down my face it was all just so moving. Phils voice was so smooth and I thought he did a great job with reading Scripture. The choir was wonderful and the Voices of Liberty were amazing. The show lasted about 45 minutes and I wasnt ready for it to end. I am now kicking myself for not picking up the CD in the one of the shops. The CD has Felicia Reshad who Ive heard is the best CP narrator. Im putting it on my shopping list for the next trip I wont come home without it!
We had about an hour before our CP dinner package ADR at LeCellier so we did some shopping and visited a few more countries working our way back around to Canada. We arrived at LeCellier early and waited about 15 minutes to be called. While we were waiting we noticed several people walking up without ADRs and they were being told it was a 2 hour wait. They looked completely shocked. I feel bad for people who dont do their research before going to WDW and dont make any ADRs.
LeCellier is one of our favorite restaurants. I must say David was a bit disappointed to see the Ribeye had been taken off the menu. Im not sure if this is temporary until after the CP dinner packages end (it was $37 and the most expensive item on the menu) or if this is a permanent change. Even our CM said he was surprised they took it off as it was the largest cut of meat available at Epcot and very popular. We both had the shrimp cocktails. I had the mushroom fillet (my favorite beef dish anywhere) and David had the strip which he said was ok but not as good as the ribeye. I had the cheesecake and David had the Canadian Club cake for dessert. Abby had the chicken and smores. It was all very good and since it was prepaid it was nice to not owe anything except for the beer that David had ordered. It continues to be a must do on our list even without the Ribeye!
We headed back to the Poly and rolled ourselves into bed!
