Annual Passholder question

We are getting annual passes for the first time when we go in July. Will I be able to book two rooms in my name at a disney resort with a passholder discount, one for my wife and I and one for another couple? Or will Disney not allow you to use that discount unless a passholder is staying in that room?

Other's have stated that Disney has changed it to where you can only book one room with an AP discount for the room the AP holder is in, but I've always been successful in booking 3 rooms with my AP discount just as recently as a month ago.

I agree that it varies by the travel agent you get on the phone. You can book more than one room, but I believe a passholder needs to be in each room. However, the rules don't always apply for this. Are you looking for a discount in July? I have also traveled and there has been no discount offered.

Ok, so it sounds like it could go either way. Certainly I could book a room then my wife could book a room. They can't make us stay together!

Also, if I reserve a room now, can I then go back and rebook using the annual pass discounts if they are available later?

No, we booked AKL for our July trip. The trip I am looking for a discount on will be in October. Probably looking at Pop Century or one of the moderates near Epcot.

You can book more than one room... you just need to be there when they check-in.

I am staying with rented DVC points and booked nights for a friend with my AP. We are not even at the same resort. It is all legit.

I spoke with a CM the other day and they stated the next set of AP rates should be released in May. Someone else stated the CM they spoke with said they would be released April 20th or 25th. Can't remember which, but the thread can be found in the Codes & Discounts part of the Disboards. AP discounts for October may not be released until August or so. I received an AP Pin Email which listed a bunch of dates during the year so was able to go ahead and book our October trip with the AP discounts applied. You can book now and apply an AP discount when they're released.
