My FP day was this morning....and I couldn't get FoP until 60+9 and 60+10! No 7D until 60+7 and SDD 60+4. I was thinking the entire 30 minutes of getting my FPs that the link was going to drop while I was in the middle of my selections!
Wow! That’s crazy!!

I dont know maybe it's me but I think they are far more ahead of schedule than we all think. This aerial shot was just last week. Courtesy of @bioreconstruct on twitter. He updates weekly with pics.

Think about it from a business standpoint, I have a product NO ONE else has that Millions want. I am giving you an option to have it before anyone else if you buy a pass. I am sucking that dry as much as I possibly can. I am sure execs are getting daily updates of how many Plat AP's are being purchased. When they slow down or dry up then they release the link.
Yep, definitely a lot less scaffolding than a few weeks ago!!

And you have a very valid point from a business point. I don't think it's a coincidence at all the AP prices increased (much more than expected) the day after announcing AP previews.

You might be in luck - Pete Werner mentioned August 11 on the Dis Unplugged show.

Yep, hearing that was what had me go from “that would be nice, but it probably won’t happen for us” to “OMG must refresh all my Disney news pages/passholder pages a million times a day.”

Their logic is silly:

They jack up platinum pass prices because they want to “control crowds” - to be able to enforce blackout dates or encourage day ticket/multi-ticket sales.

And they simultaneously drop this news about Galaxy’s Edge AP previews which does nothing but encourage Platinum Pass sales.

Thank you. I appreciate your honesty. I won’t be setting my alarm to get up at the crack of dawn but I should be able to get it done by 9:00.
@ksromack omack report has me more nervous.
Perhaps my issue is our first 2 nights are at the tail end of everyone's "we want to vacation before SWGE opens".
That’s my whole trip! Not on purpose! But that’s some crazy results you had! So sorry to hear that

I can't tell if their logic is $illy or $ound. I would anticipate significant price increases to continue over the next few years with additional rides in EP, HS, MK, and the 50th anniversary in 2021. Supply and demand, right?

Were you able to get everything you wanted at the times you wanted? Just trying to gage just how crazy it is going to be. There seems to be a decent amount of availability for dining so that makes me mildly hopeful
I was looking at FP availability for our trip (8/29-9/4) on the TP FastPass Finder. Still plenty of availability for SDD and FOP during our dates, just helpful to know which times of day (but also still 2 more days of booking before my FP day. :sad2:)

So when this is released, do you sign up on your MDE account?
Or do you have to sign up through the email that everyone seems to be waiting for?

Not really silly - the whole point is to raise the average spend per guest per day. Increasing the AP price does this.

Yes but I am going to add, I wanted FoP on 60 + 2 (not happening) or 60+ 4 at 6pm and didn’t want SDD (doing emm).

But no issues and have played with stuff a bit since. No problems!

SWGE is changing everything. When I went to book my FP's a couple of weeks ago for a 6 day trip, I had no problems getting exactly what I wanted and the general times I needed them. The close we get to the end of August, the tighter the fp's are becoming. Before SWGE, a July trip for 6 days would've given me some trouble, but a late Aug would've been a breeze.

I don't even begin to claim I know why they raised prices when they did, I don't think it was just for this AP preview, but who knows. Honestly, I don't care why. I just care that they did. I bought a Sam's AP and will bank it until next summer so I'm not feeling the hit just yet. My current AP expires the end of October, but at least for now, no more trips until our trip of all trips for 2 weeks next summer.

It's beginning to look like we'll all be back here tomorrow- not long before we can call it quits for today.

When I signed up for the VIP passholder event in April, I clicked on the link (from my email) and it directed me to log into my MDE account.

:badpc: This is sooo ridiculous. Why couldn't they have announced a time frame for the drop? Even just narrowed it down to a day.

They'll have more than enough people sign up with no notice at all. They give a tight time frame and their servers would crash with all the people trying to sign up. I guess you just really, really, really have to want this to get it. I do, so I stalk.

Disney and I are playing a nice game of chicken. I want to see SWGE, and I want to see it as soon as possible (we're SW fans!), but I also want it to be as painless as possible for me and the fam (I know, I want it all!). We have a trip at the end of July (too early for previews) and I'm waiting to see if I can get a weekend spot at this preview to book something for August. Or if they announced some paid after hours event, I would book a trip. Or worse, comes to worse, I'll book something during the EMH dates Sept-Oct, but waiting for them to drop some discounts, LOL, not doing rack rate. So, literally, I'm just sitting around waiting for Disney to entice me to fly down to FL and spend some more moolah.
I think alot of people are in your boat. Pete posted on FB today that fall bookings are waaaay down and he expects deep discounts to be released soon. DL just released some AP deal today to bring a friend for $99 thru the rest of summer. People are sick of the high prices and are avoiding the huge crowds.

It's 5 pm. I think it's safe to say it won't drop today. That marks 11 days of checking the AP Special Offers page, with its 31 "offers," 11 days of checking this thread, 11 days of checking DPB.
