Sadly, I still go with Friday. Wild guess, nothing to back it up with. lol
For Pandora, the registration for AP previews of that land opened up 9 weeks, 1 day prior to the land opening, with the first preview date available been 2 weeks before the land opened and going for 10 days. It should be noted that since Pandora officially opened on a Saturday, they had to add a day to ensure the registration went live on a weekday. I'm tending to disregard Toy Story Land as that was a bit of a reaction to them not being able to pull off a preview for that land.

Assuming something similar for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, we should see registration for the SWGE AP previews go live today (if they stick with the 9 weeks, 1 day pattern) or tomorrow (if they just go a straight 9 weeks since the land opens on a Thursday this time). That's the logic behind my prediction...given the very scarce sample size of data we have at our disposal regarding AP previews.

I do believe that they need to release them with some decent amount of time for those travelling longer distances to make their travel arrangements. I think they have a very solid idea that the land will be ready on time or they wouldn't have even put this out there. They may well be aware that any 'unfinished' aspects will just be worked on around the AP preview times.

Reservations for SWGE at Disneyland came out 8am Pacific time. But they new about those in advance. I know I can’t really compare Disneyland to WDW, but it’s just another time to consider.

Talking with a friend, she said what if they dropped it same day as ph early rundI set Star Wars registration 😳😳😳
I think this is unlikely as their system doesn't handle high loads very well. I think even Disney understands they'd be creating an IT nightmare doing that.

Ugh I hope not. I don’t think I can wait until July 11 (who am I kidding, I’d totally wait that long lol)

...well that’s depressing😂 I mean, great if we want the link to drop, but I’ll also be on a plane today and be in the Central Time Zone tomorrow. Go me haha. No seriously I’d be excited to have it drop, but if my plane has no WiFi I’m screwed. Maybe a few pilots and air-traffic control men wouldn’t mind if I didn’t use airplane mode...

I hope it is this week. Mainly because the refreshing has become so boring. Disney does not produce enough content to keep me interested in refreshing all these pages everyday.

Meh...don't get too depressed about it. This is merely an exercise in futility trying to understand how the Mind of the Mouse works. I fully expect them to do the last thing any of us expect.

I would gather there is just internal infighting trying to get a date set first. The marketing people opened the can of worms and the imagineering people are like --- "uhhh .. we were told to be ready by 8/29 .. NOT earlier". Happens in big corporations all the time. Deadlines are set or changed by some upper-level manager without finding out how ready the implementing team actually is first.

I agree they need to announce it soon for people to plan on getting there, (I mean, at this point it is past the 60-day FP reservation window for most dates we suspect this preview we would be in. But it could be this is just about some good PR and to have a super soft opening to help get the land and cast members ready, NOT as a "thank you" to passholders, so they may not care how much notice people are given.

I can't imagine though they would just "drop" something in such seemingly high demand without notice or warning, but obviously there is precedent.

Since it is a passholder event, I seriously doubt that Disney is concerned about the 60-day FP window, regardless if we are staying on site or not.

I agree though, that for most Platinum passholders, flights from outside of Florida will need to be booked.

While I agree that disconnects between marketing and implementation happen all the time, I would argue that with Galaxy's Edge...especially given how high profile this land is...there are a lot of eyes on anything they release to the press.

That being said, I completely agree that this is less a 'Thank You' for passholders than an opportunity to get the Cast Members some hands-on experience within the land prior to the actual opening dates. The fact that passholders perceive it as a perk is just a happy coincidence. I think that this AP preview is going to work in much the same way as the reservation system they had in place for the first month at Disneyland. 4-hour windows with carefully controlled crowds.

If it's not this week or next I'm going to be in big trouble. We are moving to Orlando the following week and so I will be very limited in my time able to check here. When this was first announced I didn't even consider the possibility it wouldn't drop before the move.

Agree .. since they can't just give reservations out to EVERY resort guest at WDW this is their way to do a similar "soft" and controlled opening.

The only difference is .. the DL guests KNEW when they could start making their reservations. :)

Orlando mayor, Buddy Dyer would like to welcome you, and invite you to enjoy all of the wonderful experiences that Orlando has to offer.

Also, you are now Florida Man (or woman).

that was one of my favorite "Facebook things" i have seen recently ... to put in the search bar "Florida Man" and then your birthday and see what comes up

Mine would be, "Florida Man spends way too much time in WDW after becoming Florida Man." Or "Florida Man spends entire life 10 feet in front of family at WDW." Looking forward to correcting the 2nd one and actually being able to slow down and just enjoy the parks instead of rushing. Not to mention finally meeting some friends that are as obsessed as we are. :)

it's a thing. Even florida gator.

I did see a news story on why "Florida man" is such a thing and apparently the big thing is that Florida makes their court reports and stuff much more acceible to reporters and others. So similar crazy things likely happen in all states it's just not as easy to find out about them ... though obviously the fact that gators are more prevelant in Florida than in other states makes some of thes stories even more fanciful/crazy
