Annual Passholder Previews REGISTRATION LINK IN FIRST POST-EVENT FULLY BOOKED

I did 2 GE 'previews' at DL. One via the Hotel Booking and one by the Sign Up system. The Sign Up system filled all 23 days of booking slots within 2 hours.

Availability will all depend on how many days they will do previews for.

IIRC each 4hour window @ DL had approx 3000 people allocated to it.

If this turns out to be a one off event, then good luck to all. If it's more like an extended preview like DL, then it should be fairly easy to get a slot.

It won't be one off but I seriously doubt we get 23 days either.
So most likely looking at something between 1 and 23 days.
So still a huge range of a widely unknown number of guests.

and on the flip side those Disneyland signups were open to everyone whereas this is only for Platinum and up AP holders so that is a different dynamic as well. Also, this is the 2nd land so is the draw/pull the same as for the very first Star Wars Land? Just a lot of variables that make it hard to tell

So just got off the phone with CM...I called in because my passes, which I just renewed suddenly showed up as needing to be linked...(I was trying to make FP for next weekend and all of sudden would not work anymore...) Turns out that was just a glitch and now all is fine but I also had to call last to get opted back in for emails...it seems when I renewed it defaulted back to opting me out (although I had not received an AP email since Feb??) At any rate what I wanted to share is that this CM told me that the link to register will be email or pass specific and there will not be a link or registration page posted in the app since only certain level passholders will be eligible...this is the only time I heard this but scared me a little since the emails are so unreliable...she told me I would need to call in once I am aware that others have received an email and they would attempt to get me registered..but she was optimistic I would get the email because it will be active in less than 30 days at this point...she seemed to hint the emails for "THAT preview" won't go out before then...also scary...not sure how accurate this is but just thought I would pass along...

My DS19 is a huge SW fan! When the new SW movies came out, I always got tickets for the VERY FIRST showing for him and his friends (that was quite a feat for A Force Awakens, as Fandango crashed). Now his expectations are high. So the pressure is on to get in on the passholder preview!

So their phone line will have 2 hour waits and those of us (including me) will be SOL on previews? Wouldn't it make more sense to use the link for everyone but only certain passholders can register? That seems like an easy thing to do

This is a bit unsettling. I hope it’s not true, since emails are pretty hit and miss for me

If true, why wouldn't this methodology be posted in the original announcement of the event?

I don't believe a word of what this Cast Member said. As has been said so often before on these forums, Cast Members are famously terrible for giving accurate information. Further, it would be far harder for them to make the registration email specific given the known issues with their email system. As it has worked in the past, it would be much easier for them to simply require you to login to register and only allow you to register if you have an active AP (or voucher) with the appropriate level. There is zero chance that it's 30 days before this registration goes live.

A Disney telephone cast member is the absolute last person anyone should expect any reliable information from.

TSL was open only to Gold and above. And there was a registration page. Reading the description above, it actually doesn't sound that different from prior practice - only that Platinum and above will get the emails to register. There will have to be a registration page to go to, though - seems the CM would be wrong on that. And as soon as emails go out, whatever registration link is provided (even if not to the public AP page/site) will get posted for others to use.

This is strange because when I reached out yesterday in regards to my email preferences, I was told there was no new information at all about the preview registration but he did say how in the past it's been done through an email invite.

Maybe so. But if you called and asked the same exact question related to this event to several different cast members then you would almost certainly receive any number of different unreliable responses - leaving you (and subsequently all of us) with more confusion than any of us are in a mental state to handle right now.

I am so skeptical of what any CM tells me about something that has yet to happen. Phone level CM's are just not told what's going on, but they love claiming they know. Time will tell. They put out offers all the time that aren't emails directed only to those who qualify. I don't rule out that they're right, but I wouldn't bet 2 cents on it either. Good luck on getting a spot by calling. They'll be swamped. Just put the darn link up and be done with it! I am glad you got your AP issue settled.
