Does anyone know if you can login to the annual pass holder hotel discount page with an unactivated annual pass e-ticket purchased online and use it to book a discounted hotel stay?

I think you have tot have your pass activated before you have access to the AP features online. However, you can call directly and ask for quotes or book at the AP price before your pass is activated.

Thanks everyone for the help. So what's the quickest, easiest way to activate upon arrival? Can I do it at the hotel or do I have to go to the ticket booths?

Just remember that your AP must be activated when you pay in order to get the special rate.

Not always. We are from out of state so when we checked into the DLH in May we had our AP vouchers, we had come by rental car and dropped it onsite. We asked to check in, take our luggage up to our room and then go into the park to activate the passes. They allow us to do it that way. It may depend on the CM who checks you in, I don't know but it worked out for us.

Also, for those who may not know - Right now they aren't giving great AP discounts. Just the regular 10% off. Carsland and the EMH for onsite guests have rejuvenated their bookings.

You have to activate at the ticket booths. See my post above. But the photo they take is by any PhotoPass photographer, we found one right inside DL gates in front of the Mickey flowerbed.

When I was at the Disneyland Hotel last weekend I booked the room under the AP rate and when we checked in they asked for our pass. I hadn't activated our gift vouchers yet, so I asked if I could come back with our pass later that afternoon. She said it wasn't necessary, she just took my voucher and typed some numbers off of it.

They say your photo can take 24-48 hours to show up in the system, and until it does you'll need to show photo ID when you enter the parks, so it helps to have that ready and handy.

When I had my photo taken I went right to the little photo store in DCA (just inside the parks on the right side, next to the lockers and restrooms). The girls there kind of looked at me like "you want to do what?" even though the location is printed right on the AP brochure as being a photo taking location. I kind of felt something was off, and sure enough after over a day of park hopping my photo still wasn't in the system. Even though one CM told me it could take up to 48 hours, another said that it shouldn't take more than a day. I had our photos taken again by a photographer right inside DL and it was up on my card a few hours later.
