Annual Passes????????????/

I need some info on the premium annual passes. If I went ahead and purchased two annual passes for our honeymoon next August, when does the Annual Pass officially start? I'm guessing, the first day you use it in the park starts the countdown. Also, if you haven't used your AP in the park for the first time yet, can you use AP discounts? What are AP discounts? Any info would be great about AP's. We are planning to stay for 10 days, and we figured it would be better to buy the Premium annual pass instead of UPH's Thanks.

The passes will begin the day you take them to a guest services window for activation. You can book AP reservations with a voucher, but, you cannot use the voucher for any other discounts.
