Going to WDW this month was planning on upgrading 6 day passes to AP's, but I don't see them on the WDW ticket page. Does anyone know when AP will go back on sale?

I'm not going as soon as you but I've been trying to do the same thing. So far I just get the "later in the year" line. Someone also opined that it may not be this year at all. Guess we will have to wait!

Yes. That is I figured as well. I have read there are a lot of PO’d annual pass holders.

Although I understand that WDW may not want to sell APs right now, I am one of those Annual Passholders, who is not happy about the lack of information as to when we might be able to buy or renew our Annual Pass. I surmise it is because WDW is going to make a large price hike in the AP cost, as they know that many people who have chosen not to visit this year due to COVID, will visit next year.

I haven't considered that, but its certainly a possibility if they're still trying to control attendance. An additional thought, they're still processing refunds.

I'm sure they don't want to be in the business of selling annual passes if they have to later refund them and/or extend them. Aside from the potential abuse cases of someone buying a pass, using it then requesting a refund; it's a process that ultimately leads to additional administrative overhead and lower customer satisfaction. I don't expect to see annual passes come back until refunds and extensions are complete, and they know factually that they won't need to shut down again. Right now that's just a hope.
