I bought the buy 2 get the third day free tickets from UT and was able to upgrade it easily - only paying the difference between 3 days and the Annual Pass. So, I did get credit for the day I didn't pay for as well.

I think the difference is if it's a Universal promotion ticket or a regular ticket that just has a special deal on it. My tickets were regular tickets with a special deal. The third day free was an undercover tourist thing. The current buy one day get two days free ticket is a promotional ticket through Universal so I'd expect you would pay the difference between one day and the AP price for that one.

You are correct. The UT ticket without an expiration date was given full credit where the tickets with expiration dates are not.

I don't but I do remember it was $10 each to upgrade from a 3 day pass to either a 4 day pass or the Power Pass AP. We did this in mid-April.

So this ticket I see on Undercover Tourist would not be upgradeable, right? :
2-Day Universal Park-to-Park Ticket - plus 2 days free (PROMO)Ticket expires in full 3/31/17. This ticket is non-refundable.

But this one would:
2-Day Universal Park-to-Park Ticket - plus extra day free

The free tickets would not be included in upgrading

That's a great price, I'm not sure what the price will be that we get towards the Ap with a 2 park bonus ( UK) ticket but the ticket costs £151 each right now so I'm hoping it will only be around $80 or so each to upgrade
