I'm considering annual passes and am wondering what the most cost efficient way to go would be. We have the Disney Visa, Target RedCard, and are a family of four. Other than interest free and earning points or the 5% for Disney gift cards, what other deals are out their for the Deluxe Pass? Can I pay with Disney gift cards? We live in Northern California so it looks like we are eligible for the payment plan after deposit, is this correct? If I purchase today but don't plan to visit for the first time until January, is my date now or January? How much is the discount for renewal? Thanks for any expert info. My searches haven't been very useful so far.

If you are in CA, you can pay a deposit (equal to a 1 day hopper) and pay the rest on a monthly plan. You will give a credit card. First payment will come out a couple days later. You can make a larger deposit so the monthly payment is smaller.

You can also pay all at once using gift cards.

If you purchase a deluxe AP voucher, it will be activated when you enter the park the first time, and your renewal will be a year from that date.

Discounts on renewal depend on the pass. I believe it is currently $60 off for premium passports, and $40 off Deluxe. Not sure about SoCal passes.

Word of advice -- get the Premium Pass and take advantage of the higher discount for food and souvenirs and included parking. It's now $17/day to park at Disney and it's worth it to just upgrade the fee. It'll start to pay for itself after awhile!

Check your local AAA office for their price on a deluxe voucher. It may be a bigger discount than others you have found. The expiration date will be on the voucher (ours expire in mid January). Make sure you know the expiration date before you purchase. It may be a good value for your family if one of the adults buys a premium pass (for the parking and larger discounts), while the rest of the family sticks with deluxe. That way you will get the free parking and discount without having to pay for premiums for everyone (especially if the deluxe blockout dates aren't a problem for you).

If they don't park, they would need to spend about $2000 before the pass starts to pay for itself. It doesn't always make sense to upgrade.

If you are a teacher, they offer Deluxe APs here.

It pays for itself very quick if u plan on going during blackout days for the deluxe.

Let's face it, visiting Disneyland these days, is god awful expensive! To the point to where it prices out a lot of families as well as individuals. As a result, I for one, am becoming more and more disillusioned with the corporation that is Disney. Which in turn really has tarnished how I once felt about going to the park. So as a result I may or may not go ever again. Which will make more room for at least one more person. So I will never be missed.

Does this require union membership or participation with the First Financial Credit Union?

No, it doesn't. All discount offers are available to the public too. For about the last year and a half now.
