After looking at the prices of tickets and annual pass prices, I'm wondering if it wouldn't make more sense to buy annual passes. We live in Georgia about 7 hours by car from Disney. My sister lives in Orlando, so we essentially have a free place to stay although we like to do motels sometimes as well. Has anyone else from a state other than Florida bought annual passes? Is it worth the money?

I would also like to know more about annual passes. We are planning on going one year at the beginning of June & the next at the end of May. So, since it's technically 2 trips in 1 year, that seems the easiest way to go. However, I wasn't sure whether the dining plan & ME are available to AP holders. Any advice?

We're in Maryland & we purchased Annual Passes this past May (also DVC members).
We figured it would definitely be worth it as this year we are vacationing in WDW:
May - 8 nights
July- 8 nights
Dec. - 6 nights

We've had PAP's for the past 7 years and we are in NJ. For us it made sense financially since we visit Disney at least twice a year and sometimes as much as six times a year. I think if you go more than once in a year or you go for 10 days or more on one trip, an AP or PAP is the way to go.

I'm not sure if you can get the dining plan alone-I thought it was just for total packages (tickets/hotel/dining), but I could be wrong and then DVC members can purchase the dining plan if they are staying on property using their points.

ME-from the airport, I don't know. But once you are on property, anyone can use Disney transportation.

Oops! Yes! You're right about that.
When I stated above that we always get the Dining Plan, I didn't think about it being because we're in DVC.

Thank you! We are DVC, but I didn't think to mention it b/c I didn't realize it would make a difference.

Since you are DVC the AP's are at a discount to you and not the normal price posted on Disney.com, so IMHO if you are DVC and even going only once per year, an AP is worth it then.

Wow! I didn't realize that either. Thank you so much!

BTW- We just bought into DVC & May was our first time 'home.' We never used the discount anywhere b/c DH kept forgetting about it. Oh well...maybe next time!

Congrats on your first time at "home"! We just bought into DVC in April, so we are pretty much right there with you. If you log into your DVC account online, you can get all the pricing info for tickets and AP's. If you get the AP's but don't always think you'll want to do the dining plan, invest in the DDE card, it give AP holders 20% off their meals-we use it all the time and love it. I think it is like $50 or $60 per year, but well worth it for us-especially if you like to do the character or table service meals.
