This question has probably been asked a hundred times, but I can't find a direct answer on any web pages.
Do DVC members get a disount on Annual Passes for the parks?
I see there is a discount for renewing AP's, and this option looks good by itself.
Thanks.

I believe DVC does not get a discount of the annual pass because a large number of DVC Members purchase the annual pass already and they do not want to entice more of us to purchase. They most likely think more of us would purchase the annual pass and go more often and bye more points and........

They see enough of us as it is so why make it easier for us to go.

Just a thought.

Oh, that's what happened to us. We purchased points last May, then the annual pass first time, just purchased 2 new contracts and renewed our annual pass since we now have all these points to use. Its like a visious circle and I don't know whats next.

Maybe a Pilots license and Plane to fly myself. Now thats a thought.

The only discount is 10% off the UMP rack rate, not the early purchase rate.

Maybe with the end of the Disney Club they will see the light and offer some other kind (DVC) of discount on the AP.

If you have a Disney Club card you can get discount on annual passes

Yes but only until the end of 2003. The Disney Club ends at the end of this year. I am hoping that they add DVC as a discount category when the Disney Club goes away.

the AP renewal does look good BUT it now (the renewal) must be renewed the day before your recent AP expires to get that price and starts the next day even if your next trip is 2,4, 6, 8, months away.,
We use AP's and get 3 trips (about 22 days ) out of them but when it expires we wait till our next trip to get another one so we don't lose the days before our trip.:bounce: :bounce:

We can only manage to make it to WDW during the summers (the curse of working in education). Hence we get two trips out of our AP's. The additional perks that come with AP's don't hurt either. We opt not to renew the AP skipping a year otherwise we don't get as much out of the AP. We are considering switching to the Park Hopper since we've been spending more time at the resorts. It all depends on what you plan to do, how often you visit the WDW within a year, etc.

Hmm, nope, there is no discount for DVC members. All I can say is, we flew down to Busch Gardens last weekend & bought two year passes to Busch Gardens & Seaworld for around 180/person.... so, unless Disney can give us a discount I can't see us going into the parks.... Hmm, maybe an email to member services might help....

Our last trip in July included no Disney parks. We saved alot of money and still had a great time. We now plan to do this again and maybe even go to Universal and Sea World. The price of offsite parks season passes is very tempting. :smooth:

the universal park is outstanding these days much different then 4 years ago

Doc - about a month ago, you said that DVC might have some new announcements within the next 60 days. Is there any chance that those announcements might have something to do with this thread??? Come on, please give us a little something - at least to help us sleep at night : )

Not even just the smallest hint, Doc? What if we work out some sort of code - say, one Mickey head (::MickeyMo) for yes and two Mickey heads (::MickeyMo::MickeyMo) for no?
