Annual passes DVC discount dropped for platinum/incredi, no more magic express and paid fastpasses

So is it just the Platinum pass or is it also affecting the Gold pass? Seems we are no longer special, just being shoved in with the rest of the herd.

There is no gold pass. It's now called the Sorcerer Pass and there are different block out dates.

I called today to renew my platinum passes only to be told that they don’t give a DVC discount anymore. Now renewing my platinum passes to the current Incredi pass is going to cost me $1000 more for three annual passes. If I called 48 hours sooner I could’ve saved myself $1000. And now my hands are tied because I already booked a trip Christmas week for my mom‘s 70th birthday.…So I need the pass without the block out dates. No one ever notified me of these price changes. I knew that they were changing the passes but never dreamed they would drop a discount for Dvc the most loyal customers. I wasn’t happy aboutHaving to pay for fast passes now and Magic express but this is just over the top squeezing their most valued customers for an insane increase in prices. I i’ve been traveling to Walt Disney World at least three times a year for the past eight years… And I feel the magic is dwindling. I am
So disappointed. Not sure it is even worth having DVC anymore. I hope other complain bc this is not fair. Between the dues, new annual pass prices, magic express eliminated and paid fastoasses can someone tell
Me what the heck is going on??? Who thought this was a good idea?!! Terrible!!!!

Unfortunately, as long as people keep paying the exorbitant prices it will continue. Don’t forget that if you want to do any type of fast passes you will have to fork out more $ per day! i don’t want to have to get up early on my vacation to start trying to book things on my phone either. Then having to continually be on it all day. It is becoming less magical all the time!!

Disney has been squeezing since 2012 as it came out of the last major recession. We got in on Resale pretty much at rock bottom and the prices and restrictions have been coming ever since. I have no regrets purchasing the DVC.....but I also don't have the rose colored glasses. I knew this was a business despite all the "magic." I'm glad we got AP's when they had the $525 passes for DVC members that one year (had to be purchased by Dec 31 and activated by the following Dec 31). We made out with a lot, but since they took massive losses due to covid....it's only logical that with demand back up they will squeeze and squeeze to make up for every lost $.

The fact is...DVC members aren't going anywhere. You are locked in. If you sell.....someone else will be. They always have us to turn to when things go south. And that's where you will see discounts. As much as it sucks.....DVC only ever guaranteed us a room to stay in with your points. Nothing more nothing less. If you keep that in the front of your mind...it really keeps you from feeling burned by the rest.

I still love my DVC. We don't own a lot of points. I would use if to escape Northeast cold winters and just chill at the resort. My wife is the problem always wanting to go to the parks lol. And that's where the major expense is. Park tickets are increasingly expensive. Gonna darn near have to sell a kidney to afford them for next year's trip.

I have a slightly different take on this topic. I thought the APs were underpriced relative to the ticket prices. The "take 2 trips within 12 months" strategy was great for many folks, but that means their ticket pricing is out of line compared to AP pricing.

This certainly doesn't mean I'm happy it went up so much, but demand is obviously there. And we're obviously not REQUIRED to buy them.

I hope other complain bc this is not fair.
I totally get the frustration. Anytime a decision is made by another party that will end up costing you more money it is frustrating. But I wouldn't use the term "not fair". Any business can make any decision it wants in a free market. It's not "fair" or "unfair"...it's just business. I am not trying to pick at you or be a jerk, because I get how frustrating this can be. But a long time ago I stopped looking at any decision made by a business that I have an emotional investment in (sports teams, alma matter, and yes...Disney) as "fair" or "unfair". We as consumers have every right to walk away and not give them our business if we don't like the decisions being made. Disney is just betting you or any other customer won't do that because of the emotional attachment people have with Disney.
