I don't know if this is old news, but I thought I'd post it anyways in case people were not sure.

I was at the BWV 2 weeks ago and asked the Guest Services/Concierge if I can purchase my DVC annual passes there and she said YES! :thumbsup2

I was so surprised. I mentioned that I always ask when I need to purchase or renew my passes and I'm always expecting them to say no. I told her that I was so glad for service. She said that it's just started recently....(I figured maybe during the system upgrade but who knows?:confused3)....Anyways, I was very excited about it.

I find it far more convenient to get it at the resort. And it only took a matter of minutes. She was very helpful....although, there was only one thing I forgot to get was the info that comes with the AP...I was so excited, I forgot all about it.....

Also, instead of the flimsy cards, they print them in the same card as the resort key card...so it's a bit more durable.....:thumbsup2

I liked the tyvek but this is good to know. Do you know if they can do voucher exchanges?

When you say same card, you mean the same card stock and not on your actual room card right?

This is awesome news. I am getting in on a Friday night in a couple of weeks and I have a tee time first thing on Saturday morning with my wife and father-in-law. I will not have time to buy my APs before the tee time. I was resigned to buying a DVC membership card instead, but if I can get the AP at the resort, then I won't have to pay $50 for the DVC card.

Will they print them for you if you've already purchased them online, instead of will call at guest services?

Thanks.

Would love to know the answer to these questions also !! :goodvibes

Well, here's something to consider - a friend upgraded her tickets at her resort to an AP just in the last few weeks. She had asked about where to go to upgrade and the resort concierge said "we can do it right here." BUT ... they handed her back her same KTTW card which was now an AP from a ticket standpoint.

On her return, she came to another message board I frequent asking about how they would know it was an AP for things like discounts, free parking (since her trip dates on the card were past), etc. The plastic KTTW card they gave her had no indication at all that it was an AP. We were all stumped on that since they just look at your AP for that purpose, they don't scan it or anything.

So she went back this past week to Guest Relations and had that KTTW/AP transferred to regular AP media. So if you get a new card at the resort that clearly says "AP" on it, then I think it's good, but for an upgrade, it might not work so well since when you want an AP discount you have to show them your AP.

(Just as a related fact - the resorts don't have the Tyvek media or printers - that's why everything they do is on the plastic cards.)

So I've purchased 2/4 vouchers. Planning to buy the other 2 in 3 weeks. Can I just go the desk at the BWV's and they will give me my AP's instead of walking over to Epcot? That will be awesome.

Sorry, I don't know if they do voucher exchanges....I usually don't use the vouchers so I didn't think to ask her...

Yes, I do mean that they use the same card stock....it is not on the actual room key card...the only thing we had to watch out for was that since the key card and ap looked the same, we sometimes have to take a second look to make sure it said Annual Pass and not room on it before we put it through the entrance turnstile....

Our AP's clearly showed "Annual Park Hopper DVC" and it shows the expiration date as 1 year from the day I purchased it.

I think that's great advice to check to make sure if you are upgrading that it specifically states that it's an annual pass and the expiration date is on it...:thumbsup2

Sorry, I'm not sure if they do voucher exchanges....All I can be sure about is that we can now purchase AP's at the resort Concierge/Guest Services....

Also, that they give the AP's in the same type of card as the room key card....but it is a separate card from your key card....

I think it would be a bit confusing if they put the key card with the AP since the key cards have several things on them including the date of your stay, charging privileges, and DDP....I wouldn't want that...

dvcdisney- thank you so much for the information...I do Like the Idea that the AP`s will be on a sturdier card , and seperate from the KTTW card :goodvibes....

Do you know if you can buy regular passes? My DW, DD & I are going to renew our AP's but my DD is bringing her friend and she is only getting an 8 day park hopper.

Thanks so much for this info.....it is a great help!

I haven't bought regular park passes in a long time, but I know a friend of ours regularly bought their passes at VWL concierge/guest services. Unless it's changed, before this vacation, I was told that they can sell the park/park hopper passes - just not the APs. The only thing that I'm not sure of is if they sell all the different types or only certain passes ie. 3- or 5- day passes only versus 1 day to 10 day passes....I believe my friend bought 7 day park passes.

Not that it of any help, but I do recall being able to purchase single day water park passes from the resort...

Sorry, I can't be more helpful....

Do you know if you can purchase the TIW card at resorts too?

No, the CM told me that I would have to go to the Guest Services or Ticket counter to buy the TIW card. Actually, it wasn't too bad. After I purchased the AP's at BWV, I walk over to the Epcot Ticket area (International Gateway entrance) and there was no one there and it took a matter of minutes to purchase it.

I did ask if they will have that available some day and she said, "you never know"....so maybe....I have been told that I couldn't purchase APs at the resort for many years now...but here it is....:)

By the way, I find that purchasing the TIW at the Epcot - International Gateway entrance or the Guest Relations near Spaceship Earth is the least crowded.....MK, AK and even HS guest relations seems to be busy all the time....

I have purchased my TIW card at Guest Relations at DTD in the past. Never a line there, either.

I just called ms to check on this and they said I can not purchase APs at Guest Services in my resort. We head down next week and I loved hearing this news. Are we right or is ms.

I woudl call directly down to the resort and ask. They should be able to tell you.
