Annual Passes and Pin Collecting

The search function appears to be shut down so I couldn't search to see if this question had already been asked. I was looking into buying an annual pass and read somewhere that passholders have the opportunity of purchasing limited edition pins. Is this true and, if so, where do you purchase these pins?

I got one at the main emporium at mk and one at pin central at epcot. I think all main pin stores have them but you have to ask about them. They are not usually posted anywhere and are kept in a drawer. You can buy up to two per ap.

I see quite a few different types of AP pins for the year 2002. Are they are all available throughout the year? Or do they release one, that one is done, then another etc? Do they have a variety in the 'drawer' or is there only one during each period of the year to choose from?

There was one that was released at the beginning of the 100 Years Celebration and that is still available. There were four more released during the year, one for each park's parade, and only the most recent one (for the MGM parade) is still available. There is a AP Logo one that is not a Limited Edition so I imagine that will be available for a long time. There was one released for I Conquered the World with Tinkerbell and there may be a few of her left around. There was one for the Festival of Masters which is now being sold on the racks for anyone to buy (Moulin Mickey), and there was one for the Spectacle of Lights that may still be available at MGM Studios only.

One spot where I seem to have pretty good luck getting the pins is at AK - Island Mercantile. The pins are at the cash register which is closest to the park entrance/exit. You do have to ask for them.
