Annual Pass

How should I obtain an annual pass at check in? Purchase one at the airport or drop off my bags at the Disney Resort, go to park and purchase one, then check in? I've read where one must have an official pass at check in to get AP discounts. Does anyone have a suggestion?

You can buy it at any guest relations location at any of the parks, including DownTown Disney. You can also order it online.

If you are checking in to a resort using an AP discount code, then you maybe asked to show your AP at checkin or a voucher to get one (which is what they'd send you if you purchased on line/or at The Disney Store). Rarely, a check in Cast Member may not completely accept the voucher and ask you to return to the front desk within 24hrs with your actual AP.

Basically you should be allowed to check in, but you may be required (so as to preserve your discounted rate) to shortly thereafter prove you have one.

Personally, I'd recommend ordering online even if you have to select fast shipping. That way you've got something in hand in case you're asked.
