Help, please. And new to the board, so I hope this is the proper place to request help. I am traveling with children 12/15. Thought I would return next year sometime and decided to buy an annual pass. Read enough about passes vs. voucher on information boards such as this, yet when I purchased the pass on the internet through the Disney web-site, I asked for a will-call pick up. When I tried to access the annual passholder site, I realized I needed the voucher number, so called Disney. The person on the phone told me that one could not access the site with a will call pick up and ticket had to be mailed. When I asked whether or not it would arrive in time, she stated no problem, just pick up at Disney. So, we changed the order to having the pass mailed to me, and she gave me what I thought to be a voucher/exchange number. Now, I realize that I believe I have an actual annual pass number. Does this mean that my pass has been activiated now? Or is it activated on the 1st day I use it? I can't seem to find this information clearly and am on hold with Disney for an hour. Can someone please help? thanks so much.

The annual pass will not be activated until the first day you use it at a park.

The voucher number is very similar to a real AP number but they are not the same. Your voucher that they are mailing (and it will be a voucher, not an activated AP) will start the day you exchange it at WDW. Actually using it to enter a park is not a criteria for activation. It happens at the exchange.

Just to clarify the whole voucher exchange for the actual annual pass for the OP -

You take the voucher to the guest relations window at any of the four theme parks entrance (including the International Gateway entrance at Epcot) or at Downtown Disney. You can't do this at your resort. All guests that will receive an Annual Pass must be present. Adults must show photo ID. This will be coded into Disney's system so if you ever lose the Annual Pass, you can easily get another one without penalty by showing the same photo ID. You then get your actual Annual Pass. IMPORTANT - check the expiration date on the back. It's been know for the purchase date and the activation date to get mixed up and the incorrect expiration date is on the back. Yours should read 12/15/07 if you activate it that first day.

Have fun!
