I think this May be a stupid question but I was looking at the Universal site just to figure out how much it would cost to upgrade a 3 day park to park pass (from undercover tourist). I see that the seasonal pass costs 284.99 and the 3 day pass cost 229.99. So that would mean i would have to pay $55 plus tax to upgrade, correct? Not sure if those annual pass are the rates right now or those are the rates for 2017? Did it go up in price? Also was wondering if I had to go in the park before upgrading? Thanks in advance!

The Annual Pass rates are the rates right now. They just went up in price a couple of weeks ago. But it was the second increase this year.

Most people have had better luck upgrading to an Annual Pass at Guest Relation inside the park after using it once. You should get credit for the gate price of the ticket being traded in. The prices of multiday tickets on Universals website are $20 cheaper than the gate price so you should get $249.99 credit.

Piggybacking on this thread instead of starting a new one. If we upgrade an existing power pass to a preferred pass, do we get credit for the current price of the power pass? It looks like the current power pass is $344.99 plus tax and preferred is $384.99, so would the upgrade price be $40 plus tax? We bought the pass last January when the price was lower. Just want to make sure the difference would be ~$40, not $100+. Calling @damo :flower3: and others. Thank you so much in advance!

That would be my guess since they are honouring all power pass perks from old power passes, so you would think what you have is equivalent to any newly purchased power pass. I think you should contact them to make sure, though.
