Annual pass upgrade for child not w/parent

my DD10 is taking a friend with her to DL this spring break. Her mom is buying her a 3 or 4 day hopper ticket & may decide to upgrade her to an AP. She definitely wants to do the hopper & then upgrade as opposed to getting an AP straightaway. Does anyone know if a minor can upgrade without her parents being physically there?

The other 4 of us that are going already have our own APs.
