Just bought DVC in May and I read in a review that a DVC member bought their annual pass for a good sale price. I know the sale period has expired.

My question is does DVC run this sale often or is this a one time event? We are going in November and I know we will be going next year.

Thanks in advance.

Members currently receive a savings off the purchase price of WDW Annual Passes and Premium Annual Passes. This savings is available everyday.

Disney has offered two promos (one each of the last 2 years) for a better savings on the WDW Premium Annual Pass. The price was different for both promos (better savings the first time) with a short purchase window (of a couple of months) and an activate by date.

The PAP sale ran February-April. The last time they ran it was late 2012 so it's unlikely to run again this year. The PAP price was $484 plus tax, so $1 less than an AP.

Thanks for the info. When we were there last month we looked at AP right after buying into DVC and the cast member gave us some crazy pricing. We asked the price a second time and he confirmed the price to upgrade both our passes to AP and then the price doubled when we went to pay.

It will cost about $700 for our passes for our upcoming trip. I know we will be there a second time in a year so it will be worth doing an AP.

Is it one year from the day I buy it online or one year from the day I activate it in the parks?

The year begins when activated - either at a Theme Park or at Guest Services in DD. If the AP is a renewal, it will have the same anniversary as the original activation date.

Enjoy! :)

I will point out cost to DH later and then say if we go in May next year we can go again in early November before they expire and get three trips out it.

If you purchase online you either get a voucher mailed to you or you just get a confirmation number. In either case, you go to a Guest Services or a ticket window at a park or DTD and exchange the voucher/confirmation number for the actual ticket. Your year begins that day, even if you never use the ticket to enter a park.

If you upgrade a partially used MYW ticket (within 14 days of first use) to an Annual Pass, the expiration date of the AP will be one year from the date the MYW ticket was first used.
