OK, it must be annual pass season, because everyone seems to be asking all about APs. :teeth:

I've been to www.mousesavers.com and read all about the AP discounts. Please let me know if I'm on the right track here! :p

We are going to Disney World from December 4 through December 11, 2004 (8 days) at Port Orleans. To take full advantage of any potential discounts, is this what I should do:

1) Request a ROOM ONLY reservation at PO now.

2) Wait to see if any AP discounts come out between now and December.

3) Assuming they do, call CRO at that time and request the AP rate be applied to my ROOM ONLY reservation (before purchasing the actual AP, because you don't need it to book, right?)

4) Purchase an AP (not a voucher) about a week or so before we leave so we can use the AP to check in at the resort (I've heard that sometimes you cannot present an AP voucher to get the AP discount... you have to have the actual AP).

Anyone with experience and advice on APs is greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure my first AP purchase goes as smooth as possible!

Thanks!

So far your doing well except one thing. You can not purchase an Annual pass that is activated anywhere except the four parks, DTD or the airport DS location. You would be purchasing the pass but without a start date so they give you a voucher. The voucher is green and the size of a credit card. I had my voucher for 8 months before I went to WDW and had it activated.

You should have a valid annual pass to check in with. Alot of people will tell you they were not asked to show it at checkin and some will tell you they had to show it after they got it activated.
If your flying into MCO (Orlando airport) you could buy your pass at the Earport Disney Store there and it will be an active pass useable for checkin. This saves from having to go to theme park first. I don't think you can activate a voucher at the airport.

I hope this helps some.

Is there a place at the WS enterance to Epcot to activate an AP voucher?

Just wondering as we will be checking into BWI and that might be the easiest place for us.

I just bought an AP at the WS entrance to Epcot, so I'm guessing they can also activate a voucher there.

Yes, you may activate it at Epcot's WS entrance.
