Annual Pass resort discounts?

We are thinking about getting the FL resident weekday annual pass..... do annual passholders get resort discounts? If so how much?

Annual pass holders do often get discounts on resort stays, but they're not always available nor is is always the same amount. And in my experience so far, the AP discounts have typically been the same as the FL resident discount. The only real advantage for me with the AP discount is that, because the number of rooms available with a discount is limited, if there's nothing available at the resort I want/dates I want with FL resident discount, I have them check for ones with the AP discount.

In the last year the AP discount ranged from 30-40% for deluxes. I am not sure about the others as we only stay deluxe. So far though, those discounts have only been in the slower seasons. I think there have been some discounts in busier times, but not as much. And it takes a year and a day for them to release the dates (fall still hasnt come out!)

We have found that usually when there is an annual pass discount, there is also a room only discount for the general public.
The AP discount is generally 5% more than the general public special. We consider the room discount to be an extra benefit - if we cannot justify the cost of the pass with the number of days that we go to Disney, we wouldn't get one.

We are going in August and going to buy annual passes when we are down there. We are also booking before we leave for the following July. We are DVC members, but might add some addition nights at a resort. Does anyone know if we can make modifications after booking, if th annual pass provides us with a better discount?
