I renewed my annual pass with the regular DVC discount over the phone in mid-August with a DVC person, as I needed to make my fastpass+ reservations....but my pass did not expire until part way into our trip last week. Then the new price came about along with the blackout dates and the added memorymaker. My plan was to only do one upcharge in order to get the memorymaker (DH and I have virtually NO pictures together, even after numerous trips per year for many years). So, when I went to the window with my will call number and told the CM that I only wanted to change one of the two, I was told that I did not have to pay anything extra and the memory maker would be included......along with NO blackout dates. They were honoring the price I paid in August and included the memory maker, but did not subject me to blackout dates (for this year only). Not that I was planning on visiting during the blackout dates anyway.
Let me tell you, we had a ball getting our photos taken on space mountain, buzz, splash mountain, outside of thunder mountain, all different ones in front of the castle and all over Epcot.
I am wondering if additional changes will be made to the TIW card in January after they renegotiate with the different establishments. I did read here where the Tea at GF was dropped....not nice to do that with no advance notice. Not sure if we will renew it or not. We may just do more off-site dining. We discovered the nice shopping area behind the magic kingdom area in Winderemere...maybe 7 minutes from BLT. A nice Publix and some restaurants. Easy leaving BLT to get there....but tricky coming back in, as you can't make a left at the light in front of BLT...you have to keep going straight and then pull a u-turn at the first legal place you can without getting in to an accident.
