annual pass renewal question

Does anyone know if you purchase an annual pass do you get any type of discount on the renewals each year or is it the same price as the original pass?

You do get a DISCOUNTED rate. We bought our APs in May 04 for $403. and change. If we want to renew it, I believe it's around $370.00 and change. The only downer on this is that you have to renew it as soon as your pass expires.....It would be nice to renew it like 6 months later, or when it's convenient for the guest, but it doesn't work that way.

There's a 30 day grace period from your anniversary date. The only catch is that no matter when you do it, your anniversary date remains the same.

So if your anniversary date is 1/2/05, and you renew on 1/28/05, your anniversary date would remain 1/2/06.

AP's just increased on January 2nd. A new adult one now costs $420.68 including tax. A renewal is $378.08.

We bought annual passes last year - on 2/9. Well, I don't want to renew in February....

Why? Becuase we typically don't go this time of year. I want to review in summer, so I can get two chances to go in the warm months. We've learned that we don't like going in Jan/Feb when the weather can be iffy.


So, If I don't renew, but buy new AP's on say July 1st, would that mean mine would expire 2/9 or 7/1 the next year. If the answer is 2/9, I'll never buy another one.

If you don't renew your AP within 30 days, you do need to purchase a new one. It will become effective on the new date, not the previous one that expired.

Just to clarify, when buying a new pass with a new renewal date of July 1st you will be paying the full price of a new AP pass not the renewal discount price.

Your DVC AP will cost you $314.18 this year. Your renewal next year (barring any additional price increases between now and then) would be $281.16
