My wife and I recently booked our stay at the AKL, and then decided to become Annual Passholders. If/When the Annual Passholder discounts come out for January - February, will we be able to get the discount on our already booked room?

Yes, you can. When AP rates/codes are released, call CRO and give them your conf. #. Tell them you want to apply the AP code/rate for your reservation. If available, they'll modify it and adjust your cost.

Hope this helps - good luck!!! :teeth:

Yep that’s what we did, Our honeymoon is nov-dec trip we booked with a AAA rate then watched the boards (more like stalked the boards:tongue: ) when the ap rates came out we had the rate applied to our stay and had enough to extend our stay for one day :earseek:

Beware, this is a two-sided issue. Remember if booking a room ressie and getting a discount on it was so easy we ALL would do it. By you booking a room at rack rate you are showing that your room is not available, so if everyone did that, then the resort would appear to be at or near capacity. Then the discounts come out, and boom, no need to make any discounts available at your resort, why, because everyone has rack rate rooms reserved. Discounts are only made available at a resort if there is a need to fill empty rooms--no empty rooms, no discount needed. So you do take a chance of affecting whether your resort gets the discount. Some folks found out about this recently because there were so few discounts available at the WL, only a few lucky ones got a discount, and very few got it on their existing ressies. But yet there were plenty of folks on these boards that said they were holding rack rate room ressies at WL in hopes of applying a discount later (which didn't happen in alot of cases). This is why you only see a few people posting that they have done this, because most of us know that this way of booking can have such an adverse affect on getting a discount at the resort you want to be at.

I agree with this last post. I can't seem to get all our nights for upcoming trip with a code or AP rate mainly because there were no rooms available--they were all already booked. (we got the last one available for our dates, so it was not discounted)

We did get one night at AP rate, but not any more. I am hoping the other nights open up, or we will cancel. I just can't justify paying rack rate for LVC for an "extra" trip next month.

Don't get me wrong, I have paid rack rate for those rooms and will again--but this trip was an "extra" trip we just wouldn't have planned if the rates hadn't come out. (but we want to get a few more of the nights at those rates to go)

I'll keep calling, but don't have much hope that a code will open up for a room that isn't even available. I wouldn't have already reserved the room we have, but had to since it was the last one of it's type available.

ACK! Well, I'm glad you told me the other side of the story. I won't be cancelling even if I do have to pay the rack rates since it is a ritual for us to go that time of year. If they deny me annual pass rates, at least now I will know why.
