We already booked POR for 1-8 Nov with the DC rate. We just decided (maybe too late) to buy a WDW AP to take adantage of that 'better' rate. When I called the CM, they said they were all sold out of the AP rate for those dates.

Does this make sense? We already have a room booked - we just wanted to take advantage of the AP rate. Any comments are appreciated!!

I have been reading on the boards that the first weekend in November is 'Super Soap Weekend' (soap opera stars make special appearances, etc.). I hear that most of the dates with the discount codes are sold out for that weekend. Plus, I think there are some conventions, etc.

I guess it sounds like a long-shot, but you can keep trying...

For what it's worth - we were down there during last year's Super Soap Weekend, and found no real difference as far as crowds...I know some people had concerns about that, but we felt the parks were nice with minimal wait times.

Good luck!

One other thing, that week is also NJ week, with NJ schools getting most or all of that week off school, making for more people there. Also, when rooms become available with a code there are only a set number of rooms available with that code orAP rate. Just because you have a room reserved doesn't mean you can get that room reduced to the AP rate, there has to be a room available at the AP rate for you to receive it. Keep trying, you never know what might open up!!!

You're exactly right. Only a block a rooms is set aside for the AP rate. I guess you snooze, you lose. And yes, we also from NJ. Thanks for your reply.

We have an AP rate for November 9-12 but we made reservations about 3 months ago.

The AP rates had to be booked by the end of Sept sometime, I believe.

There is a second chance to use a code to book a discount room for your November stay, and you don't need an AP to qualify. The new BBK code offer was announced on Sunday, October 6. Rates for standard view Moderate resort rooms are $85 plus tax, (and it appears that CS can be had for a discount this go-around if anyone is interested in that resort). Even if CRO says that POR is sold out at the discount rate for the dates of your stay, keep calling back at least once a day. The discounted room inventory changes constantly. Good luck!

We have had the AP rate sell out before as well as the Florida rate, but never at the same time. The only other time we have been unable to book a discount was for New Year's Eve - which usually is not discounted in any way. Well, the weekend of November 8, 9, and 10 is an exception. We tried to make reservations over two weeks ago, which is almost a month and a half in advance and all discounts were gone. We ended up at the Dolphin on a teacher discount - there's more than one way to skin a discount.:)

We have ressie at POR for Nov. 9-12. About two months ago my DML decided to join us and was planning on flying into Orlando on the 8th. I started trying to add the 8th. No luck. Only once they even were able to offer me that date and is was with no discount. Finally we found a decent airfare to fly her into Jacksonville by us and out of Orlando.

My husband and his mother are actual Supersoapers. This will be our Fourth year going. I've learned, when they announce book it. But I agree, the crowds are all crowding around Susan Lucci and the like. It's not an issue for me and the kids. Except some of those soap fans can be tough to get through if they're jockying for a fan watching spot. Each year I will end up having to try and get through a crowd to get to an attraction or out of the park or whatever. It is like trying to part the Red Sea and I ain't Moses.
