Annual Pass Rate Question

We are planning a trip for October 12-16 2007. This will be our first trip to Disneyland California. We usually purchase an annual pass just for the room discounts at WDW Florida. Is it worth it to purchase an annual pass in order to get a discount for the Grand Californian? If so how deep of a discount do you get? Are the AP rates out for October yet? Thanks in advance for your help.

I never had much luck with AP rates at DL. I don't think the hotels often offer much off for AP. If you can grab a 4th night free rate before they sell out, you'll probably do better.

No. AP disc is pretty much hit and miss at DLR. I once got a great AP rate on DLH and the next time I tried I got such a small disc that it was hardly worth the effort. I've never seen much of a disc at GC.

I am sure the Gay Days rates are way better than the AP discount. I think I saw a post that someone got the GC for $209 a night. Reg $340.

I do not know the link, but if you call the reservation line and ask for the Gay Days rate they can tell you if there are any more rooms at that rate.

I am pretty sure those are the dates that the rates are in effect.

They occasionally offer low rates for APs.. off season and very limited amount of rooms.
Keep an eye on different boards.. call them multiple times.. check on Mousesavers for posting of discounts.

If you plan to go back to DL anytime in the next year then a AP is a good investement (Deluxe is a decent value with some block out days).
If you plan to drive to the park each day then an AP might be worth it for the parking pass (free with Premium, extra cost for Deluxe).

HoJo's offers a discount for AP holders (similar to AAA rates).
