Will buying an annual pass screw up my free dining? I've read some have changed one of their parties' tickets to an annual pass during the trip and the rest before the end of their trip. Is that still true? Can I do it to my son's pass-he's 17.

When they calculate the price of the pass will the price I paid as part of the package for my tickets apply towards it? Will it be prorated depending how many days I've already used? Say I have 7 day parkhopper tickets,and want to buy them on day 3, will I pay the difference between the 7 day or the 4 day price?

You can't do it before your trip, because you have to have tickets to get free dining. But you can do it anytime during your trip (best advice is to use the tickets once to enter the parks, then upgrade) within 14 days of first using the ticket.

The ticket will be worth whatever the current gate price of that ticket is, on that day, and that is how much they will apply to your AP purchase. The AP will be backdated to the first day you used the ticket.

Your son is a Disney adult (age 10 and up), so you can upgrade his tickets to an adult AP, just like any other adult.

You can upgrade tickets any time before the end of your trip. Say you have a 7 day PH ticket with your free dining package, you will pay the dif. between what the 7 day ticket costs, and the cost of an AP. Doesn't matter if you've used the ticket 2 days or 5 days.
Any Guest Relations in the parks can do it for you. don't forget to bring photo ID.
