Annual passes look like being the best option for us this year as we have a December trip booked and are now looking to book for Summer 09. Do you buy your passes before you go and if so how do you buy them? The only place to get them seems to be direct from Disney, which is fine, but their website asks where I am from and then directs me to their UK site which only offers the usual 14 or 21 day tickets :confused3 any advice would be appreciated :)

I am also interested in this as we are booking for next May, then we will go the following April. Which I had bought them for this years trip.

In the past we have ordered our APs in advance - this was to enable us to order the DDE card (you used to have to have the AP voucher code to get the DDE).

Also, if you have obtained the AP discount on your WDW room, you are required to show your AP or AP voucher at checkin, so you may need to get the AP in advance - although I've never been asked for proof of having an AP at checking (perhaps the system tells them you have one?).

Now you can get the AP and DDE cards from any Guest Relations window at the parks or at DTD, or from the Disney stores in the airport (MCO), so no real reason to get one in advance unless a price rise in coming up :)

I've just started looking inot AP's as I'm going Sept/Oct 08, Feb 09 and Sept 09 .. I've already worked out (with help from Jakey Rowling) that Universal is cheaper ... now I've checked the prices out for Disney and I'm quids in!!

14 day Ultimate ticket (avail UK only): £164 ($328) for 2008
7 day Premium ticket : £153 ($306) for 2009 (may not need)
14 day Ultimate ticket :£179 ($358) for 2009
TOTAL: £496 ($992) or £343 without 7 day.

Premium Annual Pass: £308 ($616) .... BARGAIN

I now have 2 x 14 day Ultimate tickets that I'm not going to use but luckily, our friends are going too and they haven't bought tickets yet, so they will buy them from us.

Happy happy happy :cheer2: :yay: :dance3:

Plus you get loads of discounts with the AP such as 10% off most items at World of Disney, free parking if staying off site and meal discounts at selected locations or can get the Disney Dining Experience card :)

Claire ;)

That's excellent news, thanks Claire. I wondered about free parking as it juust said 'Theme Park Parking' not FREE parking. It's definitley worth it for us now as parking was $8 per day last time we went (2006) .. prob more like $10 per day now .. Billy Bargain :thumbsup2

i'm sure when we went in feb it was $11 a day, we got our ap through our wedding and i think they are great, and we also got the dde card which has saved us so much money already

Also look at the std AP. We don't buy Premium as we only visit 1 water park a year.
If you don't go into Disney Quest then its cheaper to buy a std AP and Water park AP. $477 + $106 = $583, Only $33 saving but if there is a few of you it adds up.
You need to do more than 4 water parks/DQ a year to make the premium worth getting, OR 3 water parks if buying separate as above.

You have probably already looked into what I have said but don't want you buying something more than you need.

When it comes to renewals it even better. We have AP for 4 Disney parks, Universal, IOA, SW, Busch and Aquatica costs about £345 each (approx £38/park/year)
Disney $434
Univeral $105
SW, BG, Aq $295 (2 years)

We would definitely be doing both Disney water parks in the Septembers but maybe not Feb.

I can't stand DQ so can quite easily miss that one! :thumbsup2
So is the water park AP both parks or just one? I haven't seen the advert for those. This is all getting too confusing!!

Sorry there is also Pleasure Island and Wide World Of Sports Included in Premium, somewhere we don't go so I forget about them.

Think I've got it now! :woohoo:
I am also not keen on Pleasure Island (alhtough I've never been there!) .. I'm not fond of nightclubs at all and as long as I can still listen to the music in House of Blues, I'll be happy. I'm sure the Sports place is good too but I can always go another year.

I'll buy 2 standard passes for $477 each then 2 water park AP's for $106 each.

Total will be: $583 or about £291 each .. a big saving on what I was due to buy.
Thank you all so much ... my bank manager loves you all :surfweb:
