Annual pass question

I want to purchase an annual pass before Jan so I can get the 1 month free deal. Does the start date begin the day I purchase, or the date I activate the pass on-site?

It is not the date you first use it, you can't use a new annual pass until you activate it and not everyone activates it on their first park day (but the smart ones do).

It will not activate right away, you will stop by a guest relations on the day you want it activated and that date will become your renewal date on normal AP. With the promotion it'll be that date + 1 month. Guest relations are conviently located outside and inside of every park entrance and there is also one in disney springs. Just add in about an extra 15 minutes to your plans to get into the park the first morning. I've never had it take 15 minutes but that's a good number to use in planning in case it's crowded.

There will be instructions when you buy it on how to turn in the voucher/activate it.

Also to note but I think @ravenclawtrekkie mentioned that you have 18 months to activate it or you loose the free month promotion.

The day you activate it on site. So, if you decide to activate it in the evening on the 1st and don't go into a park until the 2nd, your start date is the 1st. Also, make sure you check the start date before you leave the window to make sure it's the correct date.

Yes the free photo downloads that come with your AP last all year as well

Yea you can book FP just as long as you have your AP linked in your MDE

Yep - you can definitely book FastPasses so don't do what I did and think you need to have the actual pass in hand before doing FastPasses (this was when the advanced booking first started).
