I tried looking for a specific forum for this topic but couldn't find one, so I'll ask here. So...we're moving to FL in a couple weeks and we know we want to buy annual passes. I briefly looked into it and there's a few different options. In your opinion, what's the best and where do you purchase them from? We don't care to have the water park option. We were thinking of the weekday option. Input? :)

We're FL residents of almost 3 years now and we are about 3 hours away from Orlando with very young kids so not a day trip or half day sort of thing for us. We tend to do a long weekend at a time and it's only been once a year so far. But it worked out that we went in Feb for 2016 and we're doing Jan in 2017 so we got the Silver AP for FL residents that has blockout dates for the summer (too hot and crowded IMO anyway) and Christmas/New Years (too crowded). So basically even though it's an "annual" trip for us we basically got one round of tickets free (a savings of $900 for our family this time) since the AP cost about the same as 4 days with parkhoppers.

Friends of ours that live in Orlando get the next level pass up without blockout dates because they can go on a random day or half day without much fuss.

In the future I could see us going in the fall or Nov/Dec but not much more often than once every 9-13 months.

We have the Silver passes. In my opinion the Silvers are the best bang for the buck. There are some blackout dates, but for the most part it's during times we wouldn't be thrilled about visiting anyway.

The silver pass is a good option. It does have the same blackout dates as the weekday. We're moving about an 1-1.5hrs away, so we'd be able to go more often. I was thinking that the weekends are busier anyway and yeah the black out dates are not times I'd want to go either, lol. We've gone before during New Years week, bad idea! Ughh....I don't know. Where do buy them? Right from Disney or are they discounted somewhere else?
