Annual Pass question

I have been to Universal once a long time ago and planning a surprise trip for my family in June. We are going for 4 nights (3- days) and planning to stay onsite. Our last trip, I booked directly through Universal and it was super easy, but I've been told there are more cost effective ways!! A friend suggested I purchase an annual pass to get a better rate on the resorts and various other discounts. I just can't figure out how to find the APH rates for the hotel before I pull the trigger. I'm flailing - any advice would be appreciated!

We will be traveling in October. When do APH rates come out for dates in October?

Could be May

Last year oct rates were released around April 17-20 for October

If typing in that code doesn't work, try calling. That's what I had to do -- I couldn't find any discounts using the APH code, but I was able to get a good discount from 7/2-7/5 by calling.
